Oakland Tribune, Sunday, May 31, 1953 G-17 GOLDEN GATE ADVENTIST Golden-Gate Small Glass, But First PrQ-Commencement Fetes Honor St. Elizabeth Seniors St Elizabeth High School seniors will don their caps and gowns on June 12 for a traditional awards assembly at the school. The assembly is slated for 8 p.m. Major award is the Bank of America Achievement Award to be presented Jean Werner and Ronald Alves. College scholarships and certificates for special scholastic standing in mathematics, science, English, foreign languages, music and art will also be made.

William Smith will deliver the valedictory speech. On the morning of June 13 the graduates will attend their 8 ajn. graduation mass at St. Elizabeth's Church, after which they will be guests of the Parents' Club at breakfast in the school cafeteria. Diplomas will be awarded at 2 p.m.

Eerg, superintendent of the Oakland Public schools. The new three-story, reinforced concrete structure which is expected to be ready for occupancy in time for the fall term opening will include an auditorium, cafeteria, library, music department with six practice rooms, a dramatics room with a seating capacity of 150 and a small stage, and 40 classrooms providing facilities for 1500 students.

Acoustical tile installed throughout the building will render all corridors and classrooms soundproof. The interior is to be finished in soft shades of tan, green, and buff. On the opening day of the new term each student will be furnished a handbook containing a floor plan of the building to assist him in becoming oriented to his new surroundings, according to Principal Frank Adams. Hamilton Junior High Features Stamp Club Entries submitted in a recent exhibit conducted by the Hamilton Junior High School Stamp Club received the following awards for their owners: Harold Williams, German stamps, first prize; Harvey Sharrer, African stamps, second prize; Kenny Wong, stamps of the third prize.
