A number of other men who are expected to prove among the best players In school are out for spring football practice and will not be available until around April 1. Present plans call for the South-erners to play their first game about March 28 or April 1, although Head Coach Reed Green still has a long way to go in rounding out his schedule. Definitely booked for games, but with several dates pending, are Southeastern Louisiana, Mississippi State, North Illinois State Teachers college, U. S. Merchant Marine academy of Pass Christian and Mississippi College.

Negotiations are underway for games with Alabama, Ole Miss, Louisiana State, Tulane, Spring Hill, Millsaps and other Southern college teams. In addition, games may be arranged with Meridian of the Southeastern league and other nearby professional teams. City League Play will be resumed tonight In the VMCA City league, with the American Legion taking on White Kitchen at 7 o'clock and Hercules meeting the Mississippi Southern Veterans at 8 o'clock at the Hattlesburg High school gym. The games are the first In the second round of the last half. They find Hercules on top with a still-perfect record.

White Kitchen In second place and the Veta third. On Wednesday night Hercules will Invade Jackson to meet the Jackson Lancers, formerly known as the Sanderites. Hercules whipped the Jackson team here several weeks ago.
