resort for at 6 oclock yesterday mofnlng she boasted the lowest temperature of any weather station In any city of the United States the mercury standing at 48 deTees Fahrenheit minimum temperature While this may be a Jlttle too radical a change from torrid Manila for the Oregron boys it Is nevertheless an agreeable contrast to temperatures prevailing In other large cities of the Union and those who want a toasting need only cross to the Marin shore and ascend Tamalpais where for several days past It has been clear and sunny and the occupants of the meteorological station have been sitting around In their shirt sleeves waving palm leaf fans A new panoramic photograph of Tamalpais has Just been placed In Director McAdles office In the Mills building which Is considered one of the finest pieces of mountain photography ever produced on tlu Coast The 4ocal Weather Bureau Is In receipt of the first West Indian service bulletin Issued by the Louisiana section dated July 8 1899 Reports from thirteen stations are made ranging from Corpus Chrlstl Tex to the Bar badoes The bulletin is of great Interest at this time the beginning of the hurricane season and largely consists of a monograph on West Indian hurricanes get Back for Sewer Engineers In response to a request from the Sewer Commission as to his proposed official action In the matter of auditing demands for salaries and expenses incurred in providing plans and estimates for new sewers Auditor Wells yesterday addressed a communication to the Commission expressing hts doubt as to the legality of the action of the
