meet in secret session KANSAS CITY, Mo. Jerry Tarkanian and UNLV officials met for almost three hours Saturday in secret session with the NCAA Committee on Infractions, which will now decide whether to take further action against the basketball coach whose case has dragged on for 13 years. A decision by the six-member panel, chaired by Virginia history professor Alan Williams, is not expected for at least 2-3 weeks. HORSESHOES REYNOLDS WINS MEDALS: David Reynolds of Horseheads has won two more medals for his horseshoe skills. He won a bronze medal in the state police Olympics at Albany on June 15.

He won a gold medal in the singles competition and a gold medal in the doubles at the state Corrections Department Olympics. Tom Rafferty of Moravia was his partner in the doubles competition. The Olympics are held for the corrections department officers. Reynolds will go to Stone Mountain, Ga. for the World Championships at the end of July.

Dave Scott of Watkins Glen took a gold medal in the state police doubles. He took a bronze medal in the doubles and bronze in the singles. CORRECTIONS The Elmira Heights Edison team is known as the Spartans. The nickname was incorrect in a story on the athletes of the year in Saturday's Star-Gazette. The Sports Car Club of America Trans-Am race will be held August 11 at Watkins Glen International Raceway.

The date was incorrect in Friday's Star-Gazette. The CVSA 13 year-old team defeated Katelville Soccer Club, a team for 14 year-olds, in the Newark Valley Invitational Tournament last weekend. Katelville Soccer Club was undefeated going into the tournament and had been crowned Division I champion in the tournament. Henry Ferguson scored both goals for CVSA against Katelville. This information was omitted in the Saturday Star-Gazette story.
