T. Miss Haight Bride of Ronald Dunn Connecticut Girl Crowned Queen at College May Day Miss Barbara Allen, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Wilmar M. Allen of Hartford, a comley auburn-haired sophomore, was crowned May Queen at traditional Elmira College May Day festivities Friday at Wat kins Glen.

Miss Helen Alclnerney was maid-cf-honor for her sister. She was frowned in blue silk jersey with which she wore a wreath of red niM's in her hair and carried an overarm bouquet of red roses and iris. John F. Abel of Corninp was best man and ushers were Robert Barnes and Cornelius Murray. A wedding breakfast was served at the Mark Twain Hotel for the of the church, officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mr Mrs. Codet President of Cornell Club Mrs. Belden Codet was elected president of the Cornell Women's Club of Elmira and Vicinity at the club's annual banquet Wednesday evening at the Mark Twain. She succeeds Mrs. William Wigsten.

Other officers elected are: Miss Ruth Fancher, vicepresident; Mrs. Rex Smith, secretary treasurer; Miss Clara Munson and Miss Lor-etta Rlffe, directors. After the business meeting Miss Pauline Schmidt, assistant director of alumni at Cornc'l, spoke about the current activities on the university campus and of the 41 Cornell Women's Clubs. Miss Dorothy Connor introduced the musical part cf the program. Two pianos selections played by June Lewis were "Butterfly," by Grieg, and "Golliwog's Cake-Walk," by DeBussy.

Delores Sutter, vocalist, accompanied by Lila Mitchell at the piano, sang "Sing On," by Luigi Denza, and "June In My Heart," by Graham Vaughan. The three girls are Southside High School students. Although rain fell briefly on the May Queen's procession as it wound down the hillside from the pavil-lion to the lake, the program went through on schedule and was as gay and colorful as in former years. After the new; queen was crowned by last year's queen, Miss Mar-jorie Richardson, and the three queens including Miss Karen Hil-drcbrand, queen in 1945 were enthroned, a program of dances in honor of the royal party was staged on the sloping lawn below the pavillion. The modern dances, chorography for which was done by those who took part, were: "Jealousy," Jacob Gade; "Clair De Lune," Debussey; "Ritual Dance of Fire," DeFalla, and "Scheherzade," Rimsky-Korse-kow. Music came from recordings and a loud speaker. The girls, directed by Miss Evelyn Suit, danced with beauty and grace which testified to excellent training.

At the Glen for the event were Miss Allen's parents and her grandfather, William Mason Allen, also of Hartford. Approximately 350 students and visitors attended. Miss Catherine Finter of the physical education department was in charge. blossoms. Her flowers were a me-line leaf style with white roses and snapdragons.

Miss Jean Good as maid-of-honor wore a yellow moire gown, yellow shoulder-length veil and carried dark yellow roses on a peach me-line puff. The bridesmaid, Mrs. MR. AND MRS. Charles Nimtz, 1010 Caton observed their 60th wedding anniversary May 4, with an open house party at their home.
