SUNDAY CALL-CHRONICLE, Allentown, March 25, 1973 Deaths of the Day Harry Jones, Ex-Engineer For Railroad Harry of 502 N. Schanck Revioreen Argyl, died Saturday morning in Somerset Hospital, Somerville, N.J. He was the husband of the late Mary F. (Semple) Jones. A 1915 graduate of Lafayette College, he was chief engineer for the Lehigh-New England Railroad from 1920 to 1955.

He was a son of the late Edward and Minnie (Mathis) Jones, and a member of Faith United Presbyterian Church, Pen He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Walter Marienschek of Lebanon, N.J., and five grandchildren. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the James B. Gaffney Funeral Home, 200 Robinson Pen Argyl.

Calling hours will be 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of services. Lester C. Myers Lester C. Myers, 68, of 114 Spring West Easton, died Friday in Veterans' Hospital, Philadelphia.

He is survived by his wife, the former Helen Sharkey. was a dispatcher for the Dixie Cup Division of American Can Company before his retirement. Daniel J. Kavanaugh Daniel J. 79, of 2509 Cedar Palmer Township, died Saturday in Easton Hospital.

He is survived his his wife, the former Nettie M. Kelchner. He was most recently employed part-time at Orr's of Easton, after retiring from Dixie Cup Co. in 1963. Claude H.

Wambold Claude H. Wambold, 69, of 419 Railroad Emmaus, died Saturday in Allentown Hospital. He was the husband of Christine (Palm) Wambold. He was employed as a maintenance man for United Advertising Corp. of Allentown for the past 32 years.

Born in Emmaus, he was a son of the late William and Annie (Dorword) Wambold. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Emmaus. Surviving with his widow are a daughter, Sharon, wife of Sterling Sell of Allentown; two sisters, Mrs. Katie Carl, and Stella, wife of Thomas Kern both of Allentown; a brother, Homer of Emmaus, and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm Emmaus. Calling hours will' be 7- 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. William Bellesfield Sr.

William H. Bellesfield 83, of 1038 Russell Allentown, husband of the late Florence E. (Bieler) Bellesfield, died last night in his home. Born in Fullerton, he was a son of the late Abraham and Ida (Steele) Bellesfield. He was a carpenter until retiring 18 years ago from American Houses, Allentown.

Surviving are three sons, William H. Jr. of New York City; Roland E. of New Tripoli R.1, and Robert R. of Valeosta, a daughter, Mrs.

Miriam Blose of Allentown; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 Highland Allentown. Calling hours will be 7- 8:30 p.m. Monday.

(Trumbower) Schimmel, 91, of 36 S. Main Coopersburg, died Saturday in the Valley Manor Nursing and Convalescent Home, Coopersburg R.1. She was the widow of Thomas P. Schimmel. He died in 1946.

Born in Passer (Bucks County), she was a daughter of the late Henry and Lydia (Light) Trumbower. She resided in the Coopersburg area all her life. She was a member of the Springfield Mennonite Church, Pleasant Valley. Surviving are a son, Deams R.1, and a foster daughter, Mrs. Elsie Jacoby, both of Coopersburg; four grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Margaret Hallman Mrs. Margaret (McClellan) Hallman, 71, of 1239 W. Jubilee Emmaus, died Saturday in Allentown Hospital. She was the widow of Paul T.

Hallman. Born in Macungie, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Bertha (Measler) McClellan. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Emmaus. O'Donnell Sister Margaret O'Donnell, a member of the Blessed Sacrament Order, formerly of 232 Ridge Allentown, died Saturday in Bataan Memorial Hospital, Albuquerque, N.M. She had been principal at St. Michael's High a School, St. school Michael, boarding for Indian girls, for the past seven years. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of Mrs.

Mary Kay O'Donnell and the late James F. O'Donnell. She received her master's degree in library science from Villanova University. In addition to her mother, she is survived by two sisters, Eleanor, Bellevue, wife of George and Kronenberg, wife Jean, of James Kronenberg, Concord, Cal. Charles L. Hornberger Charles L. Hornberger 81, formerly of Sunset Lane, Bethlehem, died Friday in the South Mountain Restoration Center, Chambersburg, Franklin County. He was employed as a silk Street Silk Mill Bethlehem, weaver at the former, Goepp before retiring more than 20 years ago. Born in Locustdale, Columbia County, he was a son of the late Charles and Lillian (Stutzman) Hornberger.

He was the husband of the late Marion (Frantz) Hornberger. Surviving are two sons, Lester S. Catasauqua and Leonard G. of Bath R.1; two brothers, Grant of Frackville and Clyde of Pottstown; a sister Mrs. Lillie M.

Shirley of Ashland; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Wallace M. Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Bethlehem. Calling hours will be 7-9 p.m.

Gapp, 91, of 1917 dr Huntington Bethlehem, died Saturday in Fountain Hill Manor. Her late husband, Dr. J. Walter Gapp, was headmaster: at Moravian Preparatory School in Bethlehem from 1944 to 1960. Born in Easton, she was a daughter of the late Mr.

and Mrs. Wilson Shafer. She was a member of Central Moravian Church, Bethlehem. Surviving are two sons, Donald W. of Meadville, Crawford County, and Francis W.

of Vienna, a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy E. Dawson of Chester; a brother George of Easton; a sister Mrs. Martha Bourgholtzer of New York City, and seven grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m.

Eva Homiak of 201 W. Ridge Nesquehoning, died Saturday in Coaldale Hospital. She was 83. Born in Nesquehoning, she was a daughter late Timothy and Nettie Hopstock. She was a member of St.

John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church, Nesquehoning. Her husband George Homiak died in 1953. Surviving are two sons, John of Cleveland, Ohio, and George of cheyenne, three daughters, Mary, wife of Marcy Durso of Farmingdale, Long Island, N.Y.; Helen, wife of George Hoppey of Beaver Meadows, and Irene, wife of Joseph Span of Nesquehoning; a sister, Mrs. Anna Homiak of Passaic, N.J.; 11 grandchildren and a greatgrandchild. Services will be at 9:30 a.m.

Monday in her home, with Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. in St. John's Church. Calling hours will be from 3 p.m. Sunday until time of the service.

Mrs. Serafina Crisante Mrs. Serafina (Piovani) Crisante, 79, formerly of 1482 Jill Bethlehem, died Saturday in Nursing Home, Her husband, Andrew Crisante, died in 1967. Born in Italy, she resided in Bethlehem for 57 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Pompeii of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Bethlehem.

Surviving are a son Albert of Allentown; three daughters, Mrs. Carmela Shotten and Mrs. Anthony Cassano, both of Bethlehem, and Mrs. Michael Diablo of Allentown; eight grandchildren and seven greatdren. Services will be at 9 a.m.

Tuesday in the John R. Shupp Funeral Home, 812 E. 4th Bethlehem, with Mass of Resurrection at 9:30 a.m. the church. Calling hours will be Monday night.

Robert H. Tyler Robert H. Tyler, 46, of 726 N. 2nd Emmaus, died Saturday in Allentown Hospital. He was the husband of Dorothy H.

(Fink) Tyler. Born in Jacksonville, he was a son of Hazel A. (Kinyon) Tyler Stang Allentown and the late John Steel Tyler. He was employed as a job designer-draftsman. He served in the Navy during World War II and in the Naval Reserve from 1950 to 1954.

Surviing in addition to his wife and mother are two sons, Glenn of Allentown and Daniel at home, and two daughters, Patricia Ann and Ella Mae Tyler, both at home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, 1601 Hamilton Allentown. There will be no calling hours.

Deaths Of Day PITTSBURGH (UPI) David G. Hill, 70, retired chairman of the board of PPG Industries, died Saturday at Magee-Women's Hospital. Hill retired in 1967 after 43 years with the company, but continued as a director and member of the executive committee until 1971. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor, and two sons, William and John, both of Pittsburgh. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at the Third PresbyIterian Church.

Penn Allentown, has been held for court on a charge of delivery, and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). Tricoche, arrested Dec. in the 600 block of Hickory Street, was returned to County Prison in default of $7,500 bail after his hearing Thursday before Justice of the Peace Bennie L. Rizzotto.

Larry Rosner of 710 Greenleaf Allentown, also charged with delivery and possession of a controlled substance, waived a hearing. He was arrested Jan. 10 in the 600 block of Hickory Street. Hearings for three other persons on narcotics charges, originally scheduled Thursday, were continued. They are for Charles Armistice Smith, 229 S.

15th Allentown; John Bonamonte, 2314 Catasauqua Road, Bethlehem, and Candace Smith of Allentown. Erwin H. "Moon" Haney, 49, of 7 S. Jerome noted area golfer and former basketball star, died Friday night in Allentown Hospital. Haney had a deep interest in sports since his childhood and in 1934 was one of 50 youngsters from throughout the United States who spent a week with Babe Ruth at the New York Yankees training camp in St.

Petersburg, Fla. In 1936, he won the Allentown City Marble Championship. His basketball career began when he played with the Ritter School team and later with the team at Harrison-Morton Junior High School. He was one of the top players with Allen High School 1941-43 and was team captain in 1942-43. He later was coach of the Quakertown Pioneers team.

He also played with the high school baseball team and later with the Allentown Fleetwings farm team for the St. Louis Cardinals and the New York Giants farm team in Seaford, Del. Haney's golf wins included the Allentown City Championship in 1965, the Allentown Municipal Golf Association championship in 1962, and at Indian Valley Country Club, Telford, in 1956. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Erwin C. and Ruth M.

(Herring) Haney. The past nine years, Haney operated E.H. Haney Products, a wholesale candy business, at 884 N. Gilmore Allentown and 1947-54 operated the Pig Stand restaurant in Quakertown. During World War II, he served with the Army a and was active in basketball while stationed in Hawaii.

He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Allentown. Surviving with his widow, the former Betty Montz, are two daughters, Carol wife of Richard Fatzinger of Walnutport R.2, and Audrey at home; two brothers, Richard R. of Pleasant Hill, and Barry B. of Whitehall; a sister, Madeline, wife of Terry Leibenguth of Whitehall and two grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a brother, Ernest, in 1930. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Paul's Church. Calling hours will be p.m.

Allentown Man Held in Stabbing; Victim 'Serious' Allentown police early Saturday arrested a 63-year-old city man on charges stemming from a stabbing of another man in front of 545 Cleveland St. Committed to Lehigh County Prison following arraignment before Justice of the Peace Wilbur K. Gilbert, was Henry J.

Hardman of 518 Auburn Allentown. Hardman is charged with assault with intent to kill, assault and battery, aggravated assault and battery and carrying a concealed deadly weapon. The victim of the stabbing, 23- year-old Gregory Trexler, 123 E. Susquehanna is listed in serious condition in Sacred Heart Hospital with deep stab wounds of the upper left abdomen. Detectives are continuing their investigation to determine what provoked the incident.

6th Grade Film To Be Televised WLVT-TV, Channel 39, will televise "Apollo Mission" as produced by the grade of Schnecksville Elementary School at 10:15 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday. The 15-minute program will feature a discussion of the space project by Kenneth Zellner, William Handy and Robert Rabe, teachers at the school who served as faculty advisors to the pupils. The highlight of the program is a six minute film produced by the pupils using film techniques including animation to depict a landing on the moon, a spacewalk and splashdown.
