Couple Sues Furniture Company A Palmerton furniture company the lease. Another demand was made on the defendant to leave the premises on Aug. 11, 1960, under the same conditions. The building was vacated by the Silver Co. on Sept.

1, 1960. The Susanins are requesting judgment of $1,110.40 for repairs that were needed after the defendant left the building; $330 rep- was named defendant in a $2,031 civil court suit filed yesterday in Carbon County. Silver Furniture 634 Delaware is the defendant in the action instituted by Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Susanin of 45 Lafayette Palmerton.

The case stems from a series of (leases entered into by the furniture firm with. Mr. and Mrs. Susanin for property at 246-248 Delaware Palmerton. The property leases ran from June 1, 1946, to Aug.

31, 1960. On July 22, 1960, the plaintiffs demanded that the defendant vacate the premises and leave it in proper condition under terms of resenting a month's rent lost while making repairs and $591.23 for electric current allegedly not paid by the Silver firm. Salvation Army Program Outlined William Henry of the Sal(vation Army Corps, Wilkes-Barre, explained the corps' Welfare program when he addressed the Father-Son program of the Tamaqua Rotary Club last night. The liens were contained in a delinquent tax report submitted by the county's tax claims bureau at yesterday's meeting of the county commissioners. The value of the liens includes the face amount of taxes and penalty imposed against the property owners for county and institution district purposes. Area Man Wins Moose Award Franklin P. Weidman, past governor of the Lehighton Moose Lodge, has been awarded the Pilgrim Degree of Merit, the highest degree of the Loyal Order of Moose. The presentation was during a ceremony at Mooseheart, Ill.

Weidman has been an active member of the Lehighton lodge 17 years, where he served as governor for three, terms. He also served as inside guard, outside cently guard, prelate, trustee todgendecre: tary. He is a past president of Moose District 3 and is president of the Second Degree of the Legion of Moose. Open Friday Saturday Evenings Votes Joint C.D. Unit Schylkill County Commissioners have approved the formation of a joint Civil Defense organization for Pottsville and the county. The joint organization is needed in order to be eligible for state and federal government -C. grants. The commissioners recommended the appointment of John Carlin of Pottsville as director of the new program.

Final approval will be made by Gov. Lawrence. The commissioners announced $10,672 was spent on Memorial Day programs in the county. The funds went in small allocations to. the various county veterans organizations and for flags for veterans graves and ammunition for firing squads.
