county purposes of 1500 000 as compared with the year preceding If we assume that there were special reasons why an unusually heavy tax rate was needed last year In many counties the same necessity Is not likely to prevail two years In succession The assessment roll of 1901 shows considerable Increase over 1007 in moat of tho counties of the State and this with the lower State rate should render possible a general reduction In the aggregate tax rate Right at this moment before the county tax rates for the current year are fixed Is a good time for the taxpayers to take the subject up with
