The man who made "Flnnlgan's 400" describes it as merely the veblele tor the oonveyanos of fun, and If tbe man who wrote It doesn't know, who does? He could only Improve this description by addlog: Funot the ir ray and Mack kind. Endeavoring "man uk" who likes tbe kind ot play would know all about tbe play. Murray and Mack are funny natur ally, and In their peculiar style, funny ar tistically. Tbey go about thelr buBlneealn a way that's pecullaaly their own they say things differently and tbe people are used to their style, that their every.

act and gesture, their very appearand, and eaob and word tbey utter Is a sig nal for roars ot laughter. If their humor I. not of tbe quiet Jc. Jefferson style, It Is Don. the less funny on that account and it probably drive, away the blue.

Just as quickly. "Flnnlgan's 400" i. suptosed to be very Inoldentslly a bit on their attempt to break Into society. That', the privilege ot ny man, but whether tbe gams la worth tbe candle or not Is another matter, to be settled only by going Fri day night to the Academy and see bow tbey do It. 1 A WONhtRFl'L EXHIBITION. A Pttblte Demonstration of the Magnetic Power of Cnarles Dwlnell. Charles Dwinell, the Boy Phenomenon, gave a public exhibition of bis magnetic power to heal the sick in the Academy of Music last evening. The healer had advertised extensively end so many reports cams to this city ot the r.umber ot wonderful cures be bad wrought in the Betbls-hems and Easton and so much interest was aroused In his claims that a large throng entered tbe Academy soon after the doors were opened and shortly after 8 o'clock standing room was at a premium. The healer is a slender, dark-complexioned young man and was Introduced by bis manager, Mr.

Sherman, wbo gave a brief talk on the value ot magnetic treatment as applied to chronlo aliments. The "Phenomenon's" treatment consisted in light passes about the bead and gentle massage of the arms and body. He spent about three to five minutes on each case, and. In every lnstance.apparently wrought a wonderful change tor the better In tbe patient It It not claimed tor the "Boy Phenomenon" that be possesses supernatural powers. It is asserted by bis managers, however, that he has an extraordinary magnetic force which gives to bis touch wonderful healing powers.

Evidence ot this was given apparently at bis demonstration last evening. Tbe lame, tbe halt the partially blind, the deaf were there la large numbers. Those sorely afflicted with rheumatism, paralysis and other cbronlo troubles occu pied front seats snd were all eager for re lief at the bands of the young magnetic healer. The first to be treated was John Voeg- Un. living at corner Fourth and Gordon streets.

He suffered acutely from rheu. matlsm and lumbago, and had to be ss- slsted on the stage, Tbe healer went to work vigorously on the patient He rub bed bis limbs and body and patted bim on the back and shoulders. At the request ot tbe hesler the patient trotted back and forth on the stage while tbe audience applauded loudly When last seen tbe man was walking up tbe aisle with bis canes on bis shoulder. The next patient was Ellas Messlnger, ot South Fifth street He had a rheumatic affection and was par ly deat for severs! years. The hesler rubbed bis bead and pursued the same treatment on his body.

and, in a short tlme.the old man wss trott ing around tbe stage like a two-year-old and could hear Mr. Sherman's wblper. Miss Lizzie BtetUer, of Alburtls, who wss deat for tour years, was made to bear perfectly. A wonderful change was effected In tbe condition of Marshall Williams a six-year-old boy from Catssauqua Tbe little chap's left side had been paralyzed tor four years and he had to be carried to tbe stage In the arms of an attendaut Tbe healer rubbed the affected pirts tor several minutes and shortly after the little fellow jumped from the chair and walked across the stage. He shook bands with one of the attendants and descended tbe steps unaided and went to bis mother.

This work was greeted with much applane by tbe audienoe. In the case of W. II. Bitter, of No. 45 South Ninth street, who suffers with lo comotor ataxia, the healer was not so successful.

This, the manager explained, was due to a plaster which Mr. Itttter wore and which prevented the heaier from reaching the parts affected. The patient explained to a reporter at tbe close of the exhibition that when the healer was rubbing bis limbs be tell a peculiar prioklng sensation on the parts touched. Mrs. Boss Neer, of North Second street, in sged woman, wbo had suffered with rheumatism for nearly twenty years, Mid that she experienced a change for the bet ter at th.

close of the healer', treatment She was able to walk around the stage without any apparent difficulty and was able to rslse her arms above her head. A number ot other, availed themselves of the treatment and In nearly every ease were benefitted. Tbe demonstration will be repeated to-night and the Boy Phenom enon will again treat those wbo secure ad mission to tbe hall. While there were very many wonderful cures performed last night, time prevents a more extended notice In this article, as the detailed report ot tbe demonstration will be found in another column. Suffice to say, th.

exhibition last nlgbt was all and more than It claimed to be, and cer tainly proved to the most exacting and In credulous that tbe Boy Phenomenon pos sesses a most wonderful amount of mag. netlo force with which he la enabled to perform some truly wonderful cures. Another dlnlo wl 1 be given to-night Admission will be free, and th. most seri ous oases In town are invited to be pres ent and be cured free of oust Hs bas engaged a special suite ot rooms at tbe Hotel Allen, wher be will remain two weeks. Those wishing private treatment may call any day from 10 a.
