TO ALL WHO USE LIQUOR 1856. LATESTf8S0; LATER FROM EUROPE Roman Catholicism and the Hempstead ARRIVALS! Arrival of the. Niagara. New York, June 5. The Royal mail steamship Niagara, from Democrat.

In the course of a tilt against the policy of the American party as regards Roman Catholicism and' the' ends at which' that Liverpool on the afternoon of Saturday, the HAVE iust received and are new Church aims, the Editors of the Hempstead L24th, has arrived at Halifax, en route for opening a large variety of Boston. 0 The Hempstead Democrat, in its issue of yesterday, reproduces what "we believe" to be a tissue of infamous lies from the New Orleans Courier, concerning the recent election in that city. We are compelled to defer comment upon the dastardly, craven spirit which ascribes to Americans all the blame which should of right attach to these unhappy proceedings and we pity the man whose spirit leads him to turn from the provokers of an outrage to censure the provoked. We ask our readers to examine carefully suitable for the trade. Democrat say: "If Roman Catholicism is an error, the only way under heaven whereby we can suppress it, is by appealing not to the prejudices and passions of the people, but to the quick discrimination of their enlightened judgement." Daring the fracas the doorkeeper was knocked down. The two New York delegations, not agreeing to compromise, were both refused admission. After a boisterous discussion the Benton delegates withdrew amid loud cheers. After transacting other important business the convention adjourned until 10 o'clock to-morrow. Cincinnati, June 3.

This celebrated beverage is manufactured at the factory ot the undersigned, at Schiedam, He is the importer, as well as the exclusive manufacturer of the article, and no preparation bearing the name of ''Schnapps," that is not procured either from his establishment in New York, or from his agents in otter cities, is genuine or reliable. It is made from barley of the finest quality' selected with great care from the products of the most celebrated grain-growing districts, is flavored with the essence of the aromatic uniper Berry of Italy, and is rectified by a peculiar process, which expels from the spirit every acrid particle.

As a means of preventing and correcting the disagreeable and often dangerous effects produced upon the stomach and bowels by a change of water a visitation to which travelers, new settlers, and all unacclimated persons are liable the Schiedam Aromatic Schnapps will be found absolutely infallible while, in cases of dropsy, gravel, obstruction of the kidneys, diseases of the bladder, dyspepsia, ague and fever, and general debility, it is recommended most emphatically by the most distinguished members of the medical profession. I wish the public to understand the Schnapps is not sold by the gallon or pipe. It is only sold in quart and pint bottles, in cases of one dozen quarts and two Jozen pints, each bottle enveloped in yellow paper, with my name on the bottle, cork, and a fac simile of my signature on the label. For sale at all the respectable Druggists and Grocers. UDOLPHO WOLFE, Sole Importer and Manufacturer, Depot 18, 20 22 Beaver Street, N.

We take the lie referred to, and tbe comments accompanying it, from the Gazette and Democrat, of the 7th inst: Startling Development. The following paragraph is taken from the columns of the National Intelligencer an old line whig paper: "During a trial now progressing in the United States circuit court in this city the extraordinary fact came out in evidence, that when a Know Nothing is admitted to his second degree, he becomes a party to an oath which binds him to stand by a brother of the same grade, regardless of consequences, even as a witness in any court!" Who can read the above paragraph without an involuntary shudder of horror? Is it any wonder that so many honest honorable men have drawn out of the concern forever? Is it not enough to repulse every honest citizen The above we clip from a recent No. of the family organ.
