Monday of the crime of forging South em Pacific tickets At the local offlees Teaterday It was learned that the men convicted have long been regarded as dangerous scalpers as they have never hesitated to alter or forge tickets to beat railroad companies In the cases wherein they were convicted they forged the name of General Passenger Agent Morse of the Atlantic and Pacific to a bundle of tickets which had they beeh negotiated would have cost the company many thousands of dollars They tried very hard to cor rupt an employe df the Atlantic and Pacific system but he reported the matter to the Southern Pacific It was this which enabled them to detect the fraud The forgers had offices and agents at San Antonio and Houston and had prepared to do business on an extensive scale A large bundle of forged tickets was found In their possession They Oaly Broke Window Charles Johnson and Herman Johan sen two sailors were arrested early yesterday morning on a charge of burglary by Police Officer Hall When their cases were called In Judge Campbells Court the charge was jeduced to malicious mischief It appearing that they accidentally broke a window in the Rococo Saloon at Market and Sacramento
