and Capital will hold a Joint session In the Senate chamber at which time the bills to extend the eight hour law for women tn all occupations In which they are employed will be discussed Many classes of women workers who do not believe In the extension of the eight hour law to all women workers are represented here The nurses do not wish to be confined to eight hours work a day and have a representative here to voice their sentiments The women who work In the fruit canneries and In the fruit packing houses have protested by petition and through the members of the Legislature against the extension of the eight hour law to them The fight over the bills Is expected to be one of the closely drawn battles of the session LABOR LIPTRD UP FOR BILL The labor members are lined up solidly for the bill and It la probable that In each house the Ijabor and Capital Committee will give It a favorable rec ommendation However on the floor of the Assembly and In the Senate there will be a hard fight over It It Is expected that as In the case this morning Assemblyman Herbert Slater of Santa Rosa will lead the light on the bin AH bills that seek to transfer to the Stats tldelands that have Assemblyman Victor Canepa who yesterday secured the paasage of hla bill to enable the State Board of Harbor Commlaeloners to extend the Belt line railroad along the water front through a tunnel under Fort Mason and to the exposition site will follow the measure to the Senate committee and he expects to have the bill passed by the upper house and sent to the Governor this week If he can rush the bin through It Is expected that rapid action will be taken by the Harbor Board to begin work on the extension of the railroad that the exposition transportation question may be settled as ejon as
