Exposition Showing OAKLAND June 7 Raquaata from the Merrhanta Association nd the Panama Pacllic Kposltlon committee nf San Francleco that Alameda county should begin preparations for taking an active part In the eipoaltlon were read at the meeting oi the dlrectori of the Merchants Exchange last night The communlcatlone allied that the exchange pan resolution urging the Board of Supervisors to take prompt steps to create a fund to be uaeU for exposition purposes as authorized by the last Legislature Wllber Walker the secretary of the exchange and also one of the three Alameda county exposition commissioners stated that this county was one of the few In the State having an exposition fund It having been established In 1903 since which time exhibits have been made at many expositions throughout the country He said that Alameda county was In consequence prepared to Install an adequate exhibit at the exposition at any time upon three days notice but could make no preparation to do so until Ban Francisco had derided upon a site lie asked that a permanent committee of three be appointed by the exchange to whom all exposition matters could be referred ThVodore Qler yVllber Walker
