Rjan of Sacramento county a copy of the record of the prisoner He at once transmitted it to Judge Ogden Snook would not express an opinion as to what would be done with Jackson He said that the case was over as far as he was concerned and was entirely in the hands of the Court When told to day that his record hid been exposed Jackson did not express any surprise He denied however that he was guilty of all the things charged against Llm He admitted that he had embexsled 3500 at McGregor la but claimed that he had made the entire amount good He denied that he had etabezsled 500 in Milwaukee but confesses that he had been mixed up in a stock gambling deal but had not been prosecuted As to his misdoing in Denver he said he had gone on a drunk and missed 500 He forged his books to cover the amount and was sent to prison for doing so He denied that he had been guilty of any wrong in Sacramento or that be had defrauded the Congregational Church or the American Protective Association He admitted that he had quar elled with his mother and had not treated her right but said that he bad always sent her money when he had it to send I dont care what is said however he declared for I am tired of the world and want to be sent to prison When Jackson was first arrested be asked that he be sent to jail for the rest of his life He claimed that the heart of the world was closed to him and that he wanted to end his days among felons His case excited general sympathy and Judge Ogden postponed sentence In the hope that something might be done for the man Attorney George Golta and Rev Dr simply in the discbarge of his duty and if any forte was used it was necessary on account of the fierce resistance offered by the prisoner He declared that Bryan angered by bis arrest bad deliberately planned tbe murder made no secret of his unholy purpose and had attacked and shot his victim from behind Attorney Gibson only spoke generally in behalf of tbe prisoner and will finish on Tuesday morning He made a bitter attack upon Dog Soule who swore to the complaint against Bryan and was the principal witness against him He said that Soule had perjured himself In respect to certain facts of Rafael High School has barely recovered her nerves so forcibly were they shaken last evening She narrowly escaped death or at least serious Injury from a pistol bullet and Is confident that some and Harrison streets this morn ing after a brief illness Mr Caire was TO years of age and although he has weakened much during the last few years he was not taken seriously ill until three days ago Board of Health listened to sn argument to night from Meat Inspector Davis of San Francisco who said that if the law recently passed by the City Council in the shape of an ordinance making It an
