GACffiB Kew Points on the Indian Territory Boundary Question Br Locis May 6 Evidence is being taken in this city in the famous Greer county case betweenth United States and Texas in which each claims a large area from the other Attorney General Culberson pf Texas has come to St Louis for the purpose of examining Lr Pritch ett of Washington University who made the examination of the county last summer Professor Pritchett gave some evidence as important as it was unexpected He had taken observations at a point where the pillars marking the western boundary are located when discovered they were about one auarter of a mile west of the true meridian Should this be estab lished it would mean the transfer of a strip one quarter of a mile wide nearly 300 miles long from Indian Territory to come to believe that this is a part of the policy of the admin istration They point to the fact that neither Of the two Senators from Alabama both ardent silver nun has been able toget a single appointment to a local office There ate vacancies la the offices of both Marshal and State Attorney in that State There is also a vacant Mar shal hip Texas a niter State and tbe terms of other officials in the States represented by silver Senators and Representatives have expired and the Republican in cumbentsare holding over much to the disgust of the crowd oi hungry effice seekers who want places Even in the matter of fourth class post masters and trifling appointments for other departments the saver men have been equally unsuccessful It may be that all this storr of a scheme of the adminis tration is untrue nevertheless the silver men themselves believe it to De true ana the facts would certainly seem to indicate as much But they insist that they are tn to be coerced into toting for tht repeal ot tne silver coinaee law The President as everybody knows is deeply concerned in the matter and has set his heart upon the repeal OI the coinage act but those who favor the measure say there Is no break in their ranks and that they will present a solid front against any effort looking to a repeal of the Sherman law LABORS IK THE mSsToJ FIELD nih ntl tltnrnfntf id Uta
