been quite an exodus from the city The only entertainments given are small dinners and card and theater parties Thursday and Friday the polo pames at Bnrllngame were enjoyed by many of San Franciscos fashionable set Traps of all kinds and descriptions from four in hands to side bar buggies were there in numbers and a host of people went down by train Unusually good refreshments were served and everybody seemed to know everybody else so that an air of delightful informality and jollity pervaded the precincts of Burlingame The country places near town are filling UP rapidly San Mateo Burlingame and Jlenlo Park are evidently in for a gay spring and early summer season All the places are owned by rich men who while they all do not go in for polo and ronv races or coaching lead lives of leisurely enjoyment The Burlingame Club seems to be the favorite place to meet on Saturdays and Sundays There are always several iuncbebns or dinners given there on those days and na a great many and Napa Springs there is an air of uneasiness and expectancy as to what the summer will bring Cottage life has so far taken the place of the summersummer resort hotel that the chances are a little
