Highland Fall festival set Friday, Saturday at Aug. (C'ulo.) I 5 AULT Exhibits of art, crafts, foods, clothing and flowers along with a parade, a tractor pull, and a demonstration on home baking will highlight this year's Highland Fall Festival slated here Friday and Saturday. Entries in several classifications will be accepted from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. Friday with judging to get under way at 10 a.m.

Weld County Fair rules will be followed in each' area, but ribbons won't be awarded in classes with only a single entry. A grand champion will be selected in each area in junior and senior divisions. Fine arts exhibits, which are not to be judged, are sponsored by the Tuesday Progress CFWC group. China painting, wood a i a i i photography, ceramics, bottles and miscellaneous art are to be exhibited. Six junior and senior division classes will be opened for flower and horticultural displays competitions, and an exhibitor may enter as many classes as he wishes, although only one entry per sub-class will be accepted from one exhibitor.

Crafts and hobby projects will be judged together and grand champions will be picked in junior and senior divisions. Friday night, in the Highland High School athletic field, hot rod and mini-tractor pulling action is slated for festival goers. The pulling is set to go at 7 p.m. Saturday at 11 a.m. the Highland Fall Festival parade is slated in the downtown area.

Then, at 1:30 p.m., Susan Gaible, home economist for the Colorado Wheat Administrative Committee, will give a 90- minute class entitled "Techniques for fancy breads and dinner rolls." The presentation is slated for the home economics department of the Highland High School. The presentation will include money-saving ideas, nutritional information, high altitude adjustment guides, storage ideas, recipes and other information.
