TODAY AT 7:30 and :45 The early part of the week marked the introduction of a newcomer to the local scene and the return of a well known personality long absent. Guitaristsinger Elario Lozano is making his first Florida appearance at the Osias Lauderdale Ruttger; at the Lauderdale Beach Hotel it's none other than "Ragtime" Bob Darch. It's a new address for Darch, absent since the spring of '64, but the pride of the Yukon is back with his fancy vest, straw skimmer and the fivepedal, Cornish saloon grand piano originally built for Tex Rickard in 1900.

He rings in a kazoo, too, and is still giving the piano the ol' boot now and then. RAGTIME HISTORIAN Darch can be classed as a bona fide historian of the rag medium, preceding most of his selections with the composer's name, its publication i) 'BIG' NICK Ramada COLUMBIA PICTURES ami fiASTAR PRODUCTIONS present ii 1 date, and any other comments he feels pertinent to the subject. The program includes such old classics as "Ragtime Ro-sie," "High Born Lady" and "Brother-In-Law Dan." But he also interpolates some jokes, and there's a story-song in old-time melodrama style replete with flicker lighting. In any case, Darch has to rate as one of the most colorful characters on the nightbeat. BARBRA OMAR The newcomer is in the lounge at the Osias Ruttgers with a lot of voice hacked by Spanish guitar.

He's extremely good in both divisions. The repertoire is a versatile one, ranging from "Mala-iguena" to "Hava Nageelah" to "Irish Eyes Are Smiling" to "Baby, Light My Fire." There's also country and folk, with a bit of Campbell and Bacharaoh thrown in, (How much more versatile can you get?)
