Nolan (Jane) Kramer of Honolulu; 4 grandchildren. Captain Holmes was a 1922 graduate ot the U.S. Naval Academy and served initially in submarine duty. He wrote short stories lor the Saturday Evening Post under the pen name of Alec Hudson. During WWII he was assigned to the Combat Intelligence Unit In Honolulu.

His WWII histories include "Undersea Victory" and "Double-edged Secrets." Wilfred Holmes was a University ol Hawaii Vice President and Dean of (he College of Engineering. The University Engineering Building is named Holmes Hall in his honor.
