The batallion of the Third Cavalry, northward bound, encamped twenty miles south of this city last night, and will probablv reach, or pass through town this evening. Their supply train is a considerable distance behind, and prevents a rapid march of the soldiers. Information reached the city last evening that 400 of the Indians who were recently hovering about the hi'l4, and depredating upon freight trains, had joined Sitting Bull's band, which had recrossed the line of the British 104- sessions, and was moving towards tle Big Horn country, where game is plertiful, and that 500 other renegade reds (probably the party that last crossed the Bismarck road) were hastening to ally with the dusky old warrior.

Our re ports from the north are of an ugly character, being to the effect that Sitting Bull was assuming a very hostile attitude; was destroying life and property wherever found, It is reasonable to presume that the reports of di-satisfaction among his ent-throat brethren at the new agencies, and the encouragement extended by the reinforcement already received or on its way to a junction, will not modify the old rascal's disposition, and that as serious outbreak is probable at no remote period. Amusements.
