RELOCATION No persons, families, or businesses will be displaced by this project. ENVIRONMENT The proposed project will not have a significant environmental impact upon the service area. D.

COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING The project is in conformance with comprehensive land use and transportation planning in the area and is consistent with the adopted programming of projects in the Transportation Improvement Program. E. ELDERLY AND HANDICAPPED I. Funds will be utilized to financially assist the operation and maintenance of the existing bus system which currently provides Island-Wide fare-free service to the elderly and ambulatory handicapped at all hours of operation. 2.

The City and County of Honolulu also provides, through contractual arrangement. fourteen 14) specially-equipped vans to accommodate the transportation needs of wheelchair users and semi-ambulatory persons. This Handi-Van program is totally funded by the City and services the Urban Honolulu area from Waipahu to Ka lama Valley and the heavily populated areas of Windward Oahu from Waihee Stream to Makapuu Point. At the hearing. the Department of Transportation Services will afford an opportunity for interested persons or agencies to be heard with respect to the social, environmental, and economic aspects of the project.

Interested persons may submit orally or in writing evidence and recommendations with respect to said project. The deadline to submit written testimonies is 4:30 p.m.. August 29, 1979.
