THE OGDEN STANDARD-EXAMINER SUNDAY MORNfNG SEPTEMBER 6 1942 An President Chanodo Group Chanodo Club Presents Cookies to Canteen She Is Netv President Makes Cookies For Red Cross Eva Rose Is Bride of Broadbent 1 1 I The marriage of Mrs Eva Rose and Clarence Rich was solemnized Tuesday evening In- the-Salt Lake City temple with President David Broadbent performing the ceremony Mr and nr tu Ram ntiri Mr and Mrs i i I I i I Rich parents of the bride and groom Mr and Mrs Paul Rose brother and sister-in-law of -0 All the bride witnessed tne marrs ceremony Wednesday evening a reception was given at the home of the bride's parents The bride wore a vMf1 flnnr-lonirth 20Wn 01 Members of Chanodo club of Weber college have found themselves with plenty to do every Thursday making cookies and dough- uts for the American Red Cross canteen to be served with coffee to the men of the armed forces as they pass through Ogden This contribution has been given by Chanodo every Thursday since March 1 Its members have sugar ration cards for the amount of sugar used in the making of the cookies Chanodo was organized in 1939 for the purpose of promoting good will and friendliness Among its activities for the year are its annual Christmas party for the Weber nursery children promoting the friendship banquet among Weber college girls' units and presenting the annual dance Its officers and members are Kay Huss president Betty Lu Smith vice president June Rose secretary Louise England treasurer Marjorie Jorgenson report-ter Fay Stokes Beth Rhees Helen Mally Mary Malley Rolande Bal-lantyne Bette Freeman Marjorie Christiansen Barbara Taylor Joye Hibbert and Mary Fish white satin Her shoulder-length I veil was caught by a halo or seea pearls She carried a bouquet of white rosebuds and was attended by her only sister Miss June Rose who wore a model of pastel flowered swiss She wore a corsage of pink gladiolus The brides mother wore a gown of black crepe and had ft corsage of pale yellow gladiolus Mrs Rich mother of the groom wore a navy blue sheer model and had a corsage of deep yellow gladiolus The fireplace held bouquets of pink gladiolus and candelabra and formed a lovely background for the wed- 1 COOKIES FOR THE SERVICE MEN These young women members of the Chanodo club of -Weber college representing their club are doing their bit for the cause by making cookie for the Red Cro -canteen located at the Union depot They are Miss VerDene Webb (left) and Miss Kay Huss Receiving the cookies is Mrs Frank Brown and in the background Is Mrs Lynn Cornish who take their tura in serving at the canteen (Staff photo) I dinsr nartv To Leave for Annapolis Perry Woman Entertains Club Members Mrs William Burford Cook Is the newly elected president of the Ogden Fine Arts club which will hold its opening meeting of the fall season Friday Fine Arts Club Opens Season Next Friday The Ogden Fine Arts club will assemble for its Initial fall meeting Friday afternoon September 11 at two at the home of Mrs Cordon 1261 Marilyn drive Mrs Burford Cook newly-elected president will preside at the meeting Other officers are: Secretary Mrs Cordon treasurer Mrs Ralph Johnston historian-custodian Mrs Swenson Chairmen of committees are: Parliamentarian Mrs Hirst Turner program Mrs Cottrell house-visiting Mrs A Check-etts membership Mrs A Matthews and Mrs Trueman press Mrs Frank Kreizenbeck The program scheduled for the day will feature a short and timely book revew given by each member and a book exchange Piano Club Is Entertained!
