HE Second Section pit Second Section B-l OGDEN CITY UTAH FRIDAY EVENING JULY 14 1944 SECTION New Association Officers Early Day Classmates' Names Found Beneath Tree Stake President to Speak in 27th Ward William Critchlow Jr president of the South Ogden stake will be the speaker at the Twenty-sev enth ward Sunday at six The chapel is located at Thirty-first and Porter Musical selections will be rendered by Myrtle Yorger-son Wilma Grose Helen Manwar-ing and Margaret Pingree accompanied by Helen Powell The public is invited Official Suggests Several Ways Of Saving Water A call for cooperation by users of city water to avert possible rationing restrictions was made today by Commissioner Harold Welch in charge of the municipal water supply For several days this week water consumption has exceeded all previous records It was reported The need for water rationing will definitely be postponed and possibly may be averted entirely if consumers will cooperate with several simple economy measures" Commissioner Welch declared "We have the best water in the land and we have sufficient to meet all requirements if properly used" The following voluntary restric-toins were suggested by Commissioner Welch: 1 Avoid all waste of water wherever used 2 Repair leaking hoses dripping faucets and faulty plumbing Sunday School to Conduct Services The branch Sunday school will conduct services in the Twenty-eighth ward Adams and Thirty-seventh Sunday evening The public is invited Junior Band Will Lead Children's Parade Thursday Ray Minter's American Legion junior band will lead the children's parade Thursday July 20 in the official opening of Pioneer days according to City Commissioner Harold Welch in charge of parades This colorful 160-piece organization of Ogden youngsters has been in rehearsal throughout the summer Varied Entries Following the band will be a long procession of miniature floats decorated on the city recreation department's 12 playgrounds These floats will include doll buggies scooters costumes tricycles wagons animals and bicycles Materials for decoration will be available at the playgrounds through the week Every boy and girl is invited to enter the parade Winners will be judged in all divisions and will receive the recreation department's official champion award Each participant will also receive refreshments The parade will start promptly at six after assembling at Tabernacle park Twenty-second and Washington at five-fifteen It will disband at Twenty-sixth and Washington 1 Mothers!
