i THE OGDEN STANDARD-EXAMINER SUNDAY MORNING MAY 23 1943 Home From Denver 9 Colo Married in Salt Lake Temple DeNece Pierson To Be Married to Don Barker Golden Wedding Date Observed By Clarkes of Eden June Burnett Is Recent Bride of Russon Holbrook ty A Mr and Mrs Francis Clarke of will celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary Sunday May 30 with open house at their lome in Eden between the hours of two and six Friends and relatives are invited to attend The couple was married May 31 1893 in the Logan temple Mr Clarke was born in Eden June 4 1869 a son of Francis and Harriett Lepples Clarke His wife Wary Lindsay Clarke was also lorn in Eden July 8 1872 a daughter of William and Mary ISlleri Brown Lindsay They have spent their entire lives in Eden where they have been active in the church They are the parents of eight sons and daughters four of whom are living including: Lewis Clarke George Clarke and Mrs Jennie Guthrie all of Eden and Wrs Eva Nielsen of Ogden They also have 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild Mrs Jack Taylor of 620 Chester street has returned from a six-week trip to Denver Colo where she visited friends and relatives (Link-Tiffany studio) Andersen Family Spends Sunday At Bear River City BEAR RIVER May Mr end Mrs Andrew Andersen and two children Mrs Sarah Cludester end three children all of Salt Lake City spent last Sunday at the home of Mr and Mrs A Andersen in Bear River Hyrum Nelsen spent Monday in Brigham City Mr and Mrs Arnold Christensen and daughter Patty were In Brigham City on Friday -Keith Johnson who is employed in Ogden spent the past week-end in Bear River city visiting his parents Mr and Mrs Melvin A Johnson" Mr and Mrs Vernal Andersen were in Brigham City and Ogden Friday Arnold Hansen and Merrell Wan-kier spent Tuesday in Tremonton William A Gates Ardell Ander-sen Dell LeRoy Holmgren Farrell Huggins and Rava Mae Andersen -of Bear River City are graduates of the 7943 class of Box Elder high school Mrs Fredrekka Olsen spent th past week-end in Brigham City Mrs Carrie A Christensen and family were in Ogden on Friday Mr and Mrs Claud Iversen of Tremonton spent Sunday evening at the home of Mrs Augusta Iversen Mrs Jacquline Kemp and baby and Mrs Augusta Iversen and MraJp Leora Hansen were in City Tuesday J' A Observe Golden Wedding Miss June Burnett daughter of Mr and Mrs Revere Burnett of Clinton and Russon Holbrook son of Ll Holbrook of West Point were married In the Salt Lake temple by President Chipman April 23 the wedding anniversary of the parents Mr and Mrs Holbrook Mr and Mrs Burnett Mrs Dale Holbrook and Mr and Mrs Jay Beus attended' the ceremony A reception was held the same evening in the Clinton ward hall with the Arsenal Bombardiers orchestra furnishing the music A three-tiered pink and white wedding cake was featured The bride wore white satin styled with fitted bodice sweetheart neckline i and long sleeves and a train Her veil was a lace-trimmed fingertip length with a coronet of seed pearls She carried a bouquet of red rosebuds and gardenias Attending the bride as maid of honor was Beth Holbrook sister-in-law of the bride and Betty Froggert Ruth Maw and La Rue Mitchell as bridesmaids They wore gowns of pastel shades A sister Beth Burnett and Joan Davis were the flower girls Their gowns were coral organdy and they carried baskets of sweet peas Jay Beus attended the bridegroom as best man Mothers of the bride and bridegroom were dressed in blue with corsages of gardenias and Talisman rosebuds Entertainment provided at the reception included solos by Betty Froggett and Ethel Beesley and tap numbers by Carol and Joan Barker During intermission punch and wafers were served Dancing was the order of the evening Following the reception the couple left on a short honeymoon in Idaho They will make their home in West Point Both Mr and Mrs Holbrook attended Davis high school and previous to her marriage Mrs Holbrook was employed a the Ogden arsenal Mr Holbrook is engaged in farming and he pleted a mission for the church in Argenina returning to this country about five years ago Coup on I -xy leearaianpfStoitaicbfrx Mr and Mrs Russon Holbrook exchanged vows in the temple at Salt Lake City recently The bride was formerly Miss June Burnett California Man Visits in Ogden Elvis Hunsaker of Hollywood Calif has been visiting his mother Mrs Carl Staples of Promontory Point He also visited a sister Mrs Burton Anderson and family oya Bear River City a brother GIenur Dale Hunsaker and family of Ogden and other relatives and friends News of Husband Received Via Movies By Ogdenite Where are they what are they doing?
