John Ed Stillions, Attorney at Law, announces the opening of his office for the practice of law at The Masonic Building, Indianola. Robert "Bob" Jewell has been named the new manager of Magic Mart Discount Department Store in Indianola. Cecil Williamson has been named the new Assistant Manager at the local store on Highway 82. Miss Cindy Wilson, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Pete Wilson of Ruleville, was crowned Sunflower County Livestock Queen at the Livestock Show on Friday night. Beverly Grissom of Indianola was 1st alternate and DeAnn Fulgham Drew was 2nd alternate. 25 YEARS AGO February 6, 1964 Community leaders from Sunflower County are expected to attend an area long-range planning meeting in Indianola Feb. 19 under the joint sponsorship of the Mississippi Economic Council, Delta Council, Chamber of Commerce and City Officials, and the Sunflower County Board of Supervisors.

A plaque was presented recently to Ludlow Textile Products employees in recognition of an outstanding industrial safety record, by the Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. Ludlow employees who have served as chairman of the Safety Committee during the time this record was being made included: Bobby Alford, Ed Dailey, Anthony Kimbrell, David Allen (Safety Director), and Gene Williams. Two Indianola area students are among the 292 candidates to receive 50 YEARS AGO February 2, 1939 Sunday night 14 members of the IHS Glee Club sang at the Union Service held at the Presbyterian Church. They were: altos Bebe Gilmer, Top Alexander, Willie Murphy, Mary Louise McLain, Imogent Hardy; sopranos Letha Harper, Catherine Murphy, Kay Sumrall, Opal Lott, Josephine Carpenter, Estelle Fernandez, Sue Pyron, Goober Levenstein and Libr Wood. IHS Theater: Campus Confessions starring the greatest screen idol of all times since Rudalphe Valentino Vernon "Foots" Beard co-starring with Nita Wolff and a gang of IHS I but Nita gets her man.

These Three starring Wesley Fisackerly Memorial Award was Scott Eubanks of Ruleville. Indianola Academy junior high placed seven players on the AllConference basketball team. They were: (girls) Mary Cammack, Allyson Britt, Karla Nobile, and Heather Watson; (boys) Keith Vickers, Jim Steward, and Greg Sykes. Central Delta Academy basketball players Katie Hughes, Mark Aycock and Mary Howard Poindexter have been named to the Three Rivers Conference All Conference Team. Few people are able to combine their hobbies with their work, but Alberta Green, hostess and cook at degrees from Mississippi State University with the conclusion of the fall semester this week.

Mrs. Mayly the Woo of Inverness will be awarded degree from the College of Education and William Ernest Poe will receive a graduate degree from State's Graduate School. Mr. and Mrs. Turner Arant honored their daughter, Carol, on her 3rd birthday with a party at their home in the country.

Judge John C. Stennis of the 16th Judicial district of Mississippi and whose residence is in DeKalb, was an, Indianola visitor yesterday, the guest of his friend of many years, Circuit Clerk, C.C.
