Here's a Real SUIT and COAT "Food processors in the Ogden area will be faced with an acute labor problem this year unless students housewives and war workers on vacation come to their Robert Shelby manager of the Ogden office of United States employment service stated today "Anticipated labor needs for processors in this area will fluctuate rise and fall as the canning season Mr Shelby stated with the rise in labor demand must come a willingness of Ogdenites to help can the food "Labor needs based upon acreages contracted by the processors will present themselves about as follows: April 1 to June 1 a total of 320 workers will be needed June 1 to July 1 1700 workers needed July 10 to July 25 represents a peak period demanding over 2100 workers The need then will probably diminish to about 1300 workers until August 15 when increased needs will call for 2000 workers and will continually Increase until the top seasonal peak of over 2850 workers will be needed from September 10 to 25 By October 1 it Is expected that 1000 workers can fill the jobs and after November 1 the crews will diminish until the usual number of about 350 workers will remain During Vacations "These figures are of no value unless they can be Mr Shelby said "We are appealing to war workers to take their vacations during these peak periods in order that they can help put food in the mouths of those boys who are doing such a fine job in Tunisia the South Pacific and Alaska government service with commendable cooperation from the schools has nearly completed a registration of all school students We should know how many students are going to be available for such work soon and we hope to see every student in some work of an essential nature this Regional Figures From Salt Lake City comes word that
