He graduated from Leilehua High School in 1967. The young soldier took his basic training in Ft. Ord, Calif, after volunteering for the Army. The family said he went to Vietnam September 1968. He also is survived by a brother, Howard of Wahiawa and two sisters, Mrs.

He is the 133rd Island serviceman to die in the war. Kawamura was killed March 20 at a base camp near Binh Dinh when it came under hostile attack. He was attached to the 173rd. Engineer 173rd Airhorne Brigade. His mother, Mrs.

Masao Gen. Lloyd suffers fatal heart attack WAILUKU, Maui Retired Marine Corps Brig. Gen. Russell Lloyd, 63, died yesterday of a heart attack at his Makawao home. He was one of the Navy's star football players of the 1920s and a former chief of staff of the Pacific Fleet Marine Force.

He- was a combat veteran of the battles for Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Saipan and Tini-an. After his retirement in 1959, the general moved to Maui where he served on the board of directors for both the Haleakala Ranch and Haleakala Dairy. Graveside funeral services vith military honors will be Weld Monday at 2 p.m. at the Maui Veterans Cemetery. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, 'riends contribute to the Heart Fund.

Gen. Lloyd is survived by his widow, the former Gay Baldwin, a son. Marine Maj. Russell Lloyd a daugh- er, Mary P. Lloyd; three stepchildren, Mrs.

Lorna Harrison Paapanen, Peyton Harrison Jr. and Eve Harrison; and seven grandchildren. Gen. Lloyd was born Feb. .3, 1906, in New York City and attended Peddie school in New Jersey.

He was graduated from the Naval Academy at Annapolis in 1930, and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Marine Corps. During his time at the cademy, Lloyd was fullback on the championship football team of 1927 and was captain of the track team in 1929-30. He won varsity letters in three sports. In 1928 he scored 9 points against a great and previously unbeaten Princeton team win a 9-0 victory for the Middies. The general also served at 'he Armed Forces Staff Col-ege at Norfolk, Va.

and was an instructor at the Naval Amphibious Command at Co-ronado, Calif. He was chief of staff for Fleet Marine Force Pacific from 1953 to 1955. For gallantry in action in 'he Pacific campaigns, the general was awarded the Silver Star, the Legion of Merit, 'he Bronze Star and Presidential Unit Citation. Kenneth Urago Kenneth K. Urago, 45.

of 2329 Waiomo Road, a right-of-way agent for the Department of Transportation, died Wednesday in his home. A Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, followed by burial in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl. The Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Friends may call again from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday. Mr. Urago was a veteran of World War II.

He was born in Wailuku, Maui. He is survived by his widow, Fusayo; a daughter, Gail parents, Mr. and Mrs. Akiichi Urago of Wailuku; two brothers, Harry T. and Tadao, and two sisters.

Carl A. Brandt Memorial services for Carl A. Brandt, 65, of 4255 Pahoa a retired printer for the Star-Bulletin Printing will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Unity Church. He died Wednesday in Queen's Medical Center.

The family requests that flowers be omitted, but contributions may be made to the Memorial of Unity Church. Mr. Brandt was born in Sweden. He is survived by his widow, a brother, Gus of Portland, Ore. and two sisters, Mrs.

C. A. Carter of Spokane, Wash, and Mrs. A. E.
