I B4 FRIDAY, OCTOBER 4, 1996 THE REPORTER OBITUARIES Julius Sippel Julius F. Sippel, 92, of 244 N. Macy died Thursday, Oct. 3, 1996, at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home. He was born Nov.

13, 1903, at Stetsonville, a son of Joseph and Mathilda Langen Sippel. On Aug. 20, 1929, he married Marguerite Lumblo at St. Mary's Church, Fond du Lac, with the Rev. Felix Sippel officiating.

They were married 57 years at the time of Marguerite's death in 1986. At the age of 2, he moved with his family to the rural St. Cloud area. In 1992, he moved to the Fond du Lac area. He was a barber in Eden until his retirement in 1976.

He belonged to St. Mary's Church, its Holy Name Society, and the Firemen's Association of Eden. He served as village treasurer in years past. Survivors include one son, Roger Sippel and his wife Marilyn of Fond du Lac; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four brothers, Bernard Sippel of Fond du Lac, Carl Sippel and his wife Marian of Green Bay, Victor Sippel of Mount Calvary and Francis Sippel and his wife Rose of Mount Calvary; three sisters, Emma Diedrich and Agnes Bittner, both of St. Cloud, and Marie Abler of Fond du Lac; and three sisters-inlaw, Antonia and Hortense Sippel of Mount Calvary and Clara Mae Sippel of St.

Cloud. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Marion Grahl and son-in-law Rodney Grahl; three brothers, Leander, Joseph and Leo Sippel; three brothers-in-law, Frank Abler, Alfred Diedrich and Ben Bittner; and sisters-in-law Dorothy Sippel and Anna Mae Sippel. Services: Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Eden.

The Rev. Robert Braun will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Eden. Visitation: Friends and family may call from 3 to 6:30 p.m.

Sunday at Mach Funeral Chapel, where a prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Edward Suprenand Edward J. Suprenand, 82, of 15 N. Marr died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 1996, at his home.

He was born on June 27, 1914, in Fond du Lac, a son of Levi Peter, also known as Dave, and Emma Markow Suprenand. He married Grace M. Treleven. Mr. Suprenand was employed Immel Construction and with the Fond du Lac School System at Lincoln School.

He was confirmed in June 1957 at St. Paul's Cathedral Church, where he was a member. Survivors include two brothers, David and his wife Dorothy of Colorado Springs, and George of Lamartine; one sister, Marie Schulze of Fond du Lac; and nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his wife in 1987; his parents, two sisters and four brothers. Services: Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m.

Sunday at Cathedral Church of St. Paul. The Very Rev. James P. Cavanagh will officiate.

Inurnment will be at the church columbarium. There will be no visitation. Memorials in his name may be directed to Cathedral Church of St. Paul. Mach Funeral Chapel is handing arrangements.

J.L.'S AUTO BODY SHOP Hwy 23 Mile West of 41 921-2448 George Michels George Michels, 78, of 342 S. Woodward, Brandon, died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 1996, at his home. He was born on July 27, 1918, in Rinard, a son of Thomas and Ada Brown Michels. On April 22, 1944, he married Letha Yates at Cisne, Ill.

Mr. Michels and his wife moved to Brandon in 1946. He was employed as a corrections officer for many years at Wisconsin State Prison in Waupun until retiring in 1980. He was a member of Fond du Lac Historical Society and did volunteer work at Galloway House in Fond du Lac. He was a member of Union Congregational Church in Waupun.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Chuck and his wife Pat of Minocqua; and two grandchildren, Jeff Michels of Wisconsin Rapids and Jenny Michels of Carbondale, Ill. His parents preceded him in death. Services: Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at Union Congregational Church in Waupun.

The Rev. Michael Bausch will officiate. Visitation: The family will greet friend following the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established. Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home of Waupun is handling arrangements.

Margaret Sonnentag Margaret E. Sonnentag, 83, of 206 Center Neenah, died Thursday, Oct. 3, 1996, at Theda Clark Medical Center. She was born Feb. 1, 1913, in Fond du Lc, the daughter of Herbert and Harriet Searl Lewis.

On Aug. 19, 1939, she married Armond Sonnentag in Fond du Lac. He preceded her in death on June 1, 1996. Mrs. Sonnentag was a member of St.

Patrick Catholic Church in Menasha. She enjoyed boating, fishing and reading. Survivors include two daughters, Susan Rutter of Madison and Linda Danforth of Milwaukee; one granddaughter, Cristina Rutter of Madison; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert, and a sister, Ruth Kingsbury. Services: Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m.

Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Menasha, with the Rev. Roy Geenen officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Fond du Lac at 3 p.m. Monday.

Fourteen teen-agers from Japan arrived in Waupun Tuesday afternoon. All are staying with Waupun families during their six-day visit. The visitors from Japan are part of a sister city exchange program. Activities will draw attention to problem of domestic violence Several Fond du Lac area organizations that provide services to domestic violence victims are planning activities to mark National I Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October and educate the community about domestic violence. A woman is beaten every 7.2 seconds in the United States, according to FBI statistics.

Domestic violence is the No. 1 health risk to women, says Dr. Larry BaDaid, president of American College Emergency Room Physicians in California. Fond du Lac County offers victims several alternatives, including the Friends Aware of Violent Relationships Shelter and St. Agnes Hospital Domestic Violence Program.

Both of these programs, along with the Coalition Against Violence, will be working together this month to create an awareness Japanese students visit Waupun of what victims and their children endure on a daily basis. Brochures on gun safety will be delivered to businesses that sell firearms throughout October. The brochures advertise the Child Safe Program and give tips on gun safety. Officers Joanie Byrnes of the Fond du Lac Police Department and Sandy Foote of the Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Department will be distributing brochures and posters to beauty shops to explain available services to victims of abuse. During the week of Oct.

14-18, several dignitaries will be participating in Open Your Eyes to Domestic Violence Week. Each person will wear a black eye for a day to help teach people in the community about the plight of battered women. A Silent Witness Exhibit will be featured from Oct. 22 to 24. The exhibit includes 30 -size silhouettes of women from Wisconsin who were murdered in acts of violence in 1993.

Each silhouette bears a wing shield over the heart that gives the name, age and date of death, where the person lived, how she was murdered and the outcome or legal status of the case. The silhouettes will be showcased at St. Agnes Hospital, Department of Community Programs, Fond du Lac City County Government Center, Forest Mall, Probation and Parole, Moraine Park Technical College-Fond du Lac campus, Marian College and UW Center-Fond du Lac. (AP) State lawyers are reviewing a directive banning the early release from prison of drug dealers to determine if it must be obeyed, officials said. Gov. Tommy Thompson may ignore or veto the directive from the Legislature's Joint Finance Committee banning the early release from prison of drug dealers. "(The ban) was not our recommendation," said James Klauser, secretary of the Department of Administration and Gov. Tommy Thompson's top adviser.
