HAMPTON Seth Thomas (Ret.) passed away 10,2007. Born Dec.29,1927,in was the son of the late Seth Thomas Lillia Arriaga Wilson.

Lt.Wilson served his country with honor during WW and Vietnam, retiring in 1973 after 30 years of service. He volunteered over 1,500 volunteer hours as a dosen on the USS Wisconsin, one of many ships he served on during his years of active military service.He was a member of the Veterans of Underage Military American Legion Post in Newport News. He is survived by his loving family, including his wife of 59 May Brandt Timothy Sue H.and Ronnie Wilson; four Ross, Nancy Whitehead and Lucy eight great-grandchildren. Special thanks are extended by the family to the entire staff of the Veterans Affairs Medical Center Hospice Unit in Hampton. SETH THOMAS SUFFOLK Howard Donzel of the 500 block of Chisholm into eternal rest and peace on June Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He was born in Smithfield to Howard Lee and Lillie Ann Savedge preceded him in death. He was a graduate of Smithfield High School and a U.S.Navy Veteran.Mr.Carter was a Supervisor at the Virginia Department of Transportation.He was a member of Sandy Mount Baptist Church. He leaves to cherish his devoted Demetrius Kearney and LeRi- co Karron Battle of Suffolk and Virginia Lee Thomas of Newport Carter of grandchildren; one Newby of Dubois Savedge of Newport other relatives and friends. HOWARD DONZEL CARTER MATHEWS Erva Lee Sutton Corbett, a loving great-grandmother and sister passed away Spring Arbor Assisted Erva was the daughter of the late Norman O.Sutton,Sr.and Mattie Esther Brooks Sutton.She was preceded in death by her Kaye sister, Velva Sutton five and Lindberg Erva is survived by her husband of 65 W.Corbett daughter, Janie Delores daughter-in- Kruse Dana Corbett Feagin and her Michael Sutton Corbett and his Kaye and and Virginia many and cousins. Erva was born at home in Blakes, Mathews July 23,1922, and was the sixth child of eight.During her her a 1939 graduate of Cobbs Creek High Creek, received the Balfour Award (scholastic and took one year of postgraduate at Mathews High attended banking classes at Rappahannock Community Erva worked for her father in the Tidewater Inn Restaurant located in Gloucester Court a number of years and Barbecue at Erva was a lifetime member of Mathews Chapel Methodist she held positions of leadership in the Society of Christian Service, Administrative a Sunday School Secretary and in the church choir for several years.On Dec. and Jesse William Corbett were married in the Methodist Parsonage at Cobbs the Rev.Jack B.Tay- lor.She retired in 1981 as Assistant Cashier and Head Bookkeeper from Sovran Bank after 17 years.Sovran was NationsBank and is now Bank of America. Upon Lee and JW toured the country in their motor home then decided to live six months in Florida and six months in Virginia.In 1982 Sutton sister and her in the motor home to Grand Ole Upper Room in travels took them to Smokey Natural Bridge, Va. In 1983 their journeys took them to Fort Island and St.

Simons Hampshire, New Vineyard.Erva and travels carried them to all parts of the United States, Bermuda and Canada. Erva Lee and JW lived for several years in moved to Sanders in Gloucester and in January 2007 moved to Spring Arbor Assisted Living in Williamsburg.She lived her life with and kindness.She will be greatly missed and forever remembered. Dr.Stewart was born in Washington, D.C.on March son of Colston R.Stewart,Jr.of Carolyn Douglas Hill of both deceased.He graduated from McKinley Tech HS in Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania and received his undergraduate degree in Physics from Morgan State University in he was a member of the Army ROTC and Omega Psi Phi Fra- received his medical degree in 1972 from Howard University College of Medicine.After completing a family practice residency at Hospital (now known as Howard University entered active duty in the Army and completed an adult psychiatry residency and a child and adolescent fellowship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.In was appointed Chief of Psychiatry at Fort Campbell Army Hospital in Kentucky and went on to become Chief of Psychiatry at McDonald Army Hospital at Fort In 1984 he left active duty service and went into private practice as a Board Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist for many and championing the mental health needs of and their families in the Hampton Roads area.He returned to the Army Reserves and retired a Colonel in 1996.At the time of his death he was Chief of and Family Services for the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board where he diligently continued his work on behalf of children and their families. Jeanne Etheridge, educator dies at 99 DAILY PRESS WILLIAMSBURG A longtime city resident and educator died last weekend at her Williamsburg home. Jeanne Bell Etheridge was an educator for 42 years, almost 20 of them as principal of Mathew Whaley Elementary School. Miss Etheridge, who retired in 1973, died Sunday at the age of 99. Miss senior class was only 13 strong when she graduated from the old Williamsburg High School.

She went on to earn and degrees from the College of William and Mary, and also did post-graduate work at the University of Chicago. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. today, Wednesday, at the Cedar Grove Cemetery..
