PLAY IN MATCH HERE "Bob" Shoemaker Will Match Cuea With World's Champion Ralph Greenleaf, colorful pocket billed expert, and holder of the world's championship, will make his first appearance in Shippensburg at Sid's pool room on January 8 at 9 P. which date he will meet Robert Shoemaker, generally considered best shot in Shippensburg in a match of 125 points. Greenleaf needs no introduction to the pocket billiard fans of this vicinity, as he has ruled the roost so long in his chosen profession that his name is synonymous with "world's greatest." Making his first bow at the age of sixteen in championship play in 1916, he defeated Bennie Allen. Three years later he came into possession of the world's title, holding undisputed sway until 1925, at which time he abdicated in favor of Frank Taberski.

He regained the crown in 1926, held it for part of that year and 1927, dropping it to Erwin Rudolph in a hectic match only to recover it the following season. Losing to Taberski in the memorable Battle of Chicago in the 1928 tourney, he again won undisputed claim to the title in the 1929 championship joust at Detroit, last December, In this tournament he defeated Taberski 125 to 0, creating two world's records by going in two innings, and making an unfinished high run of 126. He scratched in his first turn at the table. Immediately following the match, Greenleaf will give an exhibition of fancy shots. MRS.
