26. Secre tary of State Fred Zimmerman has announced the following unofficial POLICEMAN IT GUILTY The former police officer i rushed up to the Jury box and grasped each Juror by the hand. He also thanked Circuit Judge Geo. Grimm. As a result of his acquittal, Powers will be reinstated on he Madison police force.

Powers was held on a manslaughter charge following the tihootlng on the night of May 12. This was the, second case within recent years Involving the slaying of a University of 'Wisconsin student by a policeman.
