Throughout the afternoon the Broncs were driving, but a tough McKinney defense and a multitude ol penalties assessed against the Denton warriors combined to limit the scoring. The second Denton touchdown came on a 60-yard drive In the quarter, with Magill hurling to Davis and the latter lateraling off to End Davis Lowe for the longest gain of the march, some 22 yards. Twice in the drive Magill pulled well-timed quarterback sneaks for first downs. Halfback Ellly Barnett, 155-pound speedster, raced around his own left end to score on a nine-yard Jaunt.

Davis again kicked the placement. McKlnney was never abl- to get ts attack into high gear, although Fullback Jack Ray sparkled on several -occasions with power unges into the line. The longest single ground gain of the battle was a 24-yarder ripped off by Davis around end. The editorial says schoolmen don't mix In the Retail Merchant's Association or the Bar Association, and so "outside" groups should not bother the League. But It might be pointed out the League's benefit that Texans do not pay taxes to sap- port the Retail Association and the Bar Association. They do pay taxes see that every part of the school system Is enabled to function the way It should. It's not so much what the League does that draws so much criticism but the way It does it. The League's entire attitude of "handsoff" -dictatorial rule Is wrong.

Tlje powerful running of Harold Bartlelt and Prank Smith together with the ball handling of McCain behind the big Texas line proved a combination that Chattanooga couldn't handle.
