The trail of the fire fiend was resumed Sunday morning at the residence of Mrs. Guitard, on Royal between Port and1 Enghein streets, completely'deatroying the bouse, and then extending to the next. This was a frame affair also, oocn- pied by Mrs. 8heppard, and burned very readily; as did also the adjoining- one, owned and occupied by Mrs. Young.

The next, occupants unknown, went also, and then there was a finish with the establishment of Mr. Jacob Dreyfus-Total loss estimated at $15,000. The burning of Mrs. Guitard's hones occasioned, an exciting episode in the gallant resona from, burning, by Sergeant John Hussy Third Precinct, of a woman and two children. Thence the spread to the adinio-ing two-story frame buildings, Nos. 125, 127 and 129 Liberty street, between Per-dido and Poydrae, oeeupted by whito and colored families, who barely escaped with their lives. The buildings were totally destroyed, with a loss of $12,000. Tbe rear portion of the one-story frame house. No.

135 Liberty street, owned and occupied by Rose Gras, was the nex place totally destroyed, with a loss of $2000. Tbe fire here crossed Liberty street and destroyed the buildings No. 128, one story frame honse, 126 one story brick house. 124 one story frame bouse, and tbe two-story brick building at the corner of Liberty and Perdido streets, all of which were occupied by white and colored families, and owned by Mr. Garcia Leon.

They were destroyed with a loss of $15,000. Here tbe flAmes were checked after a total leas of about and 12 houses completely consumed. An ajarm was struck from station 121, and a general alarm from 123, it being impossible to open or send alarm from the other boxes in the neighborhood. Secretary Ritihardson'a friends are importuning him to resign, in order to escape congressional censure for bis action in the Sanborn affair, and a belief in bi general incapacity as a public officer.
