Keep Your Teeth Healthy: Toddlers and preschoolers and theif caregivers will learn what to expect during a first visit to the dentist. A dental hygienist will discuss brushing techniques and proper nutrition at 9:30 a.fn. Friday. See a movie: The library will show the feature film "Nancy Drew" at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Children and their adult caregivers are invited to attend. The movie will be shown for free in the Genevieve Lincoln Room. Parent Son Book Club: Boys in fourth through sixth grades and their parents are invited to enjoy a book discussion, activities and refreshments at p.m. Monday. Each pair will receive a free copy of the book with registration.

The spring book selection ss "Heat" by Mike Lupica. Book Week: Young children can visit anytime from Monday through May 18 to hunt for popular storybook characters, and older children can do an online book trivia search. Successful searchers will win prizes. PJ storytlme: Wauconda Area Library will hold a PJ Story- time for children in preschool through first grade and their caregivers at 7 p.m. May 15.

Michael Hcffernan of Hawthorn Woods graduated with a bachelor's degree from Elmhurst College at the midyear commencement ceremony Feb. 10. Kristen C. Boden of Lake Zurich, an Illinois State University freshman majoring in communication sciences and disorders-speech pathology and audiology, was recently initiated into Alpha Lambda Delta National Scholastic Honor Society and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. To qualify, students must have at least a 3.5 grade point average and be in the top 20 percent of all university freshmen.

Staphnic Zarinana of Lake Zurich and Leah Meyer of Libertyville were chosen as University Scholars at Illinois State University, Normal, will receive a University Scholarship that provides $5,000 for each of four years. Elizabeth Edwards McHonc, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David L. McHone of Libertyville, was named to the 2007 fall semester dean's list at Ripon College in Wisconsin for achieving a 3.40 grade point average or higher.

McHone is a freshman with an undeclared major. Beloit College in Wisconsin named the following students to the fall 2007 dean's list for achieving at least a 3.4 cumulative GPA. Hawthorn Woods: Joshua H. Khoshbin, first year. Libertyville: Molly R.

Mandeltort, first year. Vernon Hills: Margaret R. Keister, first year; and Mary A. Keister, first year. Lewis University in Romeoville named the following students to the fall 2007 dean's list for having a grade point average of at least 3.25.

Hawthorn Woods: Carissa Castonzo. Indian Creek: Kelly Cahall. Ingleside: Catherine Savage. Libertyville: Carolynne Kruckman and Stephen O'Leary. Augustana College in Rock Island named the following students to the dean's list for earning a grade point average of 3.5 or higher during the winter term.

Green Oaks: Nicole Szulc- Cieplicki, first-year student; and Elise V. Fletcher, sophomore majoring in biology. Libertyville: Hannah L. Boyce, first-year student; Laura Dybel, sophomore; Katherine E. Jarosz, sophomore; Kristin N.

Murnik, junior majoring in elementary education; Brendan L. Steffens, sophomore; David J. Wunderlich, junior majoring in education and Spanish; Camille T. Malecha, sophomore majoring in psychology and sociology; and Peter J. Bowling, senior majoring in psychology.

Wauconda: Christine F. Cerniglia, junior majoring in psychology; and Jenna L. Howard, first-year student. Valparaiso University students are helping present prenatal showers to mothers in Northwest Indiana this spring. New and expectant mothers are learning how they can raise healthy sons and daughters through a series of educational "showers" developed by Valparaiso nursing students diis semester.

The showers are planned and presented by groups of three or four students as part of the course Nursing Care of the Childbearing Family. The following students are participating in the presentations: Mundelein: Celestia Arendall, a junior nursing major presenting on the topic of pain relief methods during labor; and Sandra Smetters, a senior nursing major presenting on the topic of postpartum care.
