204 120 ALABAMA New church reaches out to community Associated Press DOTHAN, Ala. A nondenominational group moved into a former hospital building, turning the emergency room into a cafe as part of its outreach to Dothan. Pastor Robert Grice said the move into the old Flowers Hospital follows a trend that combines several ministries in one-time commercial buildings. "I believe this kind of ministry will be the church of the 21st century," said Grice of Grace Harvest Church. Grice, James Floyd and Gary' Frith were named trustees of the new church, which also serves as a nondenominational community center.

"This won't just be a one church ministry," Grice said. It includes a 24-hour prayer ministry every day and food distribution, including hot meals for the needy. One floor has already been designated for use as a Hispanic church and school. There's a residential program for troubled teens and adults. Several Christian service organizations are already located in a shopping center adjoining the property, so Grice hopes they can work together.
