Play was called off Saturday when Venturi and Nakamura were on the fourth green because heavy rain made further play impossible. Nakamura, who was tied quarterback Sam Meyer for 22 and 17 yards as the Buffs Day hopes of the two private schools.

Kam used the win to remain undefeated and untied and deadlocked with St Louis for the I.L.H. lead. Iolani took possession of third place, a point ahead of idle Kaimuki, thanks to having played and tied one game more than the Bulldogs. Ronald Kaanehe, Kam's jack-of-all-trades, and the Red Raiders' elusive little Al-vin Yamashiro made with the toes to provide the margins of victory. Like they did in their two previous victories, the Warriors played it like a commuter awaiting a trolley he's certain will arrive.

Kam's trolley arrived when guard Ralph Tarn fell on David Harrington's fumble Kams were totally outplayed by the Buffs except for their one surge. The Buffs controlled th ball 62 plays compared to 35 for the winners. Samuel Spencer didn't see much service for McKinley uutil the fourth period, but that was sensational if not good enough to offset Yama shiro's three perfect placements. RAIDERS WILT Iolani, strangely, wilted after a lopsided first half. Yamashiro tossed a screen pass to Roger Lopes on the Raiders' first play of the game, Lopes rambling 49 yards to score.

Rudy Flores put the scotch to Punahou's hopes by filch ing Meyer's last-down pass and legging it from his 12 to the 32 as the gun barked the tle. The subsequent 15-yard penalty had its impact a few moments later when Meyer flipped a scoring pass for 11 yards to tackle Ted Cleg-horn on the Puns fourth down. Cleghorn had become an eligible end when "lonesome" Porteus stepped back a stride to become a back.

The bulky lineman slipped unnoticed through the Kam defenses for an easy reception. THE MISSED KICK The only extra point placement kick missed all day was charged against the Buffs' Lindsey Kinney, easily the loop's most enthusiastic tackle, on the following play. Gusts of wind and intermittent rain hampered, but had little to do with the fact the usually "hard-nosed" game's end. The season's biggest wave of upsets kayoed six major perfect-record teams Saturday and claimed four of the nation's six top-rated teams. Army and Ohio State upheld their No. 1 and No. 4 rankings with ease but second-ranked Auburn's 17-game winning streak was ended by the 7-7 tie with Georgia Tech and third-ranked Wisconsin, fifth-ranked Michigan State and sixth-ranked Navy all were upset. HEAD LIST Army and Ohio State head Navy.

But there's no rest ahead for any of the still-unblemished nine and that goes double for Army, Ohio State and Northwestern. Army, easy 35-6 victor over Virginia, next faces a rugged Pittsburgh team which beat West Virginia, 15-8, Saturday and has a 4-1 season record; Ohio State takes on Wisconsin which will be sharply on the rebound, and Northwestern, a sensational 55-24 winner over Michigan, opposes Iowa. Iowa, ranked No. 13, blitzed Wisconsin, 20-9, Saturday in one of the day's most significant upsets. Ohio State, of course, walloped Indiana, 49-8.
