This is the first intersectional legion game ever held in Atlanta and the machines lire well matched and comprised or as famous a bunch of men fl ever I met in a single afternoon.

Doubtless this is one of the first I attempts ever made at coaching a team by mail. pretty hard to realize that such a feat was accona- phshed but it wa and all who have any doubts as to the value of such a plan can put their minds to rest for Atlanta will have a mighty team. These men were all over the south part of the country yet. they will rather here with a positive idea of what they art from 2 to do. and its more than likely that thEy will link up one of the most formidable aggregations seen on southern grids this year.

To Practice Her In a day or two they will all be here ready to do battle with the knights from the north country. Of course these fellows will put in a day or two of good bard practice. in order to become used to one another. ALABAMA WANTS DONAHUE MontgomeryAla November It became known here' tonight that the University of Alabama several days ago offered Coach M. J. Dtnahue of Auburn a ymtract al coach with a salary said to have been 12500 a year. BY THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Auburn Ala. November 27 With tears streaming from eyes Mike Donahue for 19 years athletic coach at Auburn" this- 4 afternoon announced that he had mailed his resignation to Spright Dowell effect' July 1 1923.

Officials at Auburn declined to discuss the resignation declar-4Je mg it had not been placed before them. i Donahue declined to give any reasons for the resignation. It reported however that the-resignation is due to a chain of circumstances running over a period of some three years or more. It js' I known that a small minority ofthe Auburn alumni had frequently complained that the football methods of Donahue were out of dateM and that with a coach with modern ideas Auburn could be more fj effective as an offensive team and therefore capable of winning more games. These criticisms have been answered by the friends of Donahue this season pointing to the unblemished southern record of the team of 1922.

Matters reached a climax last week when the announcement4. was made that Captain Shirey. Shirlmg Gibson Pruitt and Glover- mainstays of the Auburn squad had been put on probation becausenj their studies were a little shy according to the report. DonahuevJ 1 it is known announced several da ago that he would resign as" I soon as the Thanksgiving day game against Tech as over. Members of the alumni association endeavored to prevail on him to change his mind but without avail.

The five players put on probation were reinstated today and returned to' football trainjnti this afternoon. At a meeting of the team after practice today the players" with tears streaming from their eyes renewed their allegiance to their coach with the words Coach were going to beat outi of Tech for you.
