Sports Harvard Baseball Team to Train in Atlanta fef Reservations Will Be Limited BY CLIFF. WHEATLEY At Banquet for Golden Tornado According to an announcement last night by Billy Oldknow chairman of the arrangements committee of the club banquet in tonor of the Georgia Tech football squads to be held Monday night the Druid Hills Golf club reservations by friends of the school will limited. and those desiring tables are requested 40 put in their ap pllcations immediately. Mr. Oldknow will look after this feature of the entertainment and will receive applications at his offices at 111 Walton street.

Mr. Oldknow stated- that the entire football squad of the Golden Tornado will be presenttotalling approximate 110 men. This number will Include the varsity scrubs and freshmen who have reported dally for scrimmages since the opening of the season. Mr. Oldknow declared that these faithful toilers deserved seats of honor and they will get them.

Little Space Left. Owing to this large number of It players who are' eligible to attend. lit coupled with the pleMence of coaches trainers and alumni. the seating ca pacity of the large ballroom will be severely taxed. but there is a bit of space left and Mr.

Oldknow ex pects to have the list of reservations completed by tonight. Handsome souvenirs will be presented to each guest. and tickets will hell for six dollars per person this charge to also defray the cost pf a players pla e. Mr. Oldknow stated that this banquet will be the greatest ever attempted by the club.

DAVID IS THE HEAD OF PREPS The first meeting or the Atlanta prep league directors was held Monday night at Fulton High school. The meeting was full of pep and many new. measures were adopted the moguls. The following represented the schools in the league Boy High. Mr.

Smith and O. K. David Tech High W. A. Sutton and Coach Tolbert Fulton High.

Guy Moore Marist. Joe Bean G. M. A. Captain Rosser and Coach Burbage University High Mr.

Evans and L. Boone. After the meeting was called to order by President Bean the president and secretary for the season 21 were named. Following the custom. for the pusidency to go rom one school to the other in regular order U.

K. David of Boys High. was elected. L. L.

Boone. of University High was given the post of secretary and treasurer. Guy Moot then paid a tribute to he retiring president. Joe Bean or his fine work during the two years that he has served as head of the Atlanta Preps. Mr.

Bean has loni more for the advancement of prep basketball in Atlanta than. possibly any other' man. The subject of referees for the games this year brought forth a great deal of comment and the moguls decided that they would consider only those who are qualified for the work and those that can handle the games as they should be handled. The new measures that were pass. ed were the year rule and one the effect that no college man would be allowed to play any form of athletics in the local prep or ganization.

The year rule has been considered for a number of years and the rule states that no man will be allowed to play more than tour years in the local preps. The subject of the schedule was next taken up and after much deliberation it was decided that play would begin on Tuesday January 11. The games will be played on Tuesday and Friday thereafter until the schedule will have been completed. The schedule is given below. FIVES The first meeting of the City league basketball directors for the coming season was held last night at Parks company. ltepresentattves of the eight teams In the league that attended are confident that the teams that represent the organization this year will be the strongest in history. Jack Wilson who had charge of the amateur baseball league in the city the past summer will have charge of the basketball league.

He states that he can see nothing but a successful ear for' the teams. and he assures the followers of this sport of some real games. The wing are the teams that will be represented in the City league this year Federal prison. Hanson Motor company. Boys' High.

Southern Dental college second team United States Tire and Rubber company. Owen Parks Stars and Fort McPherson. The Agogas awa place a good team in the rare for the City title and this year they have one of the best in their history. The formation of the second league and the girls' basketball league will be taken up tonight at the same place by the moguls who ore seeking to enter those leagues.

The authorities of Georgia Tech have offered the Harvard team the use of Grant Field and the gymnasium during its stay at Atlanta. which will be but four or five days ac cording to plans. and' games will be played with Georgia Tech. University of Georgia and probably Oglethorpe university.

The start will be made April 18 and on the return trip a game Is scheduled with Columbia at New York on April 23. WORK OF' TECH TEAM IS- HURT BY WEATHER By WALLACE GEORGE. The days of basketball for the Yellow Jacket athletes are on hand now and practice for the 21 varsity under way. Monday saw the opening of the season for the Tech czegemen although real practice wont be started until today. Out on Grant field Coach Alexander looked over his new material anti kept them at a light bit Of passing and basket shooting for half an hour or so.

But the outdoor courts were in poor condition and very little work could be accomplished. The military drill at this hour and the inclement skies cut down pretty much on the number of men trying out for the team. scarcely over a couple of dozen. re porting. Coach Alec dismissed his men shortly before 5 o'clock.

making a brief talk to them regarding practice and signouts. Regular lectures are to ke begun today at 12:30 and continue throughout the season. Coach Alec' Is to preside at. these end will bring both the varsity and erve sections of th squad to gether every day for thirty minutes or so. At present the practice of the new' men must proceed under quits a handicap for no slgnout period can He ranted them until after the holidays.

Kramer for many years champion bicycle rider of the world. Willie Spencer Kramer's partner was allowed tour- hours toteam up with another' rider. Two team gained laps on the other riders during the first twenty-four hours it being the' first time this has been accomplished In the history of the six-day races here.
