SrSHS SteS tfftg 3 X- Tate Heady 150000 Mote for Next Year. Commissioner of Pensions Lindsay Already Hall Hearly OOO New- Names on List Will Be About 500 More Be- fore October 1. The- Indications are that the pension roll text year will be Increased by something like J12SOOO to J150 000 If not more. Commissioner of Pensions J. W.

Llnd ey stated yesterday that he had already approved the applications of 851 new In- tdlgent pensioners. forty four In the dte- Isbled class and ten of the old class of widows. This makes a total of 904 new applications that have been approved. In addition to the foregoing the pension commissioner has already approved. as has been stated the applications of 1 047 Widows of the new class provided for under the act of the lat legislature and known as indigent widows.

It will be. ie therefore. that there are already pearly 000 new names to go on the pension From his past experience and the rate at which the applications are corning in now. Commissioner LIndsey says that there will be. at least 600 more apptica- tlonll approved' by October 1 next making a total of about 2 600 new ones in addition to those already on the rolls.

The grand total will be reduced some-what of course. by the death list. Last year. this was about per cent. or a total of about 400.

Taking this Into consideration then. It will be seen that there will still be more than 2 000 new names to go On the pension rolls next ear Last year there was oald out for pensions about 696000 With the additions herein stated. therefore the pension roll next year will foot up in the neighbor- borhood of 850000. If it does not fully reach that amount. Among the new applications which have been approved by the pension commissioner.

there are from Fulton fifty from Indigent soldiers one from Ii bled seldler ninety one from the new class of widows and one from the old class of widows making a total of 14 new applications from this county alone. In the case of the new class of widows the coming session of the legislature will have to provide for their payment. No adequate provision was made for it at the time the law was passed and that is the they were not paid this year. who le well known In Atlanta. is positive that the dead man hitherto unknown Is his broth- er Paul D. Johnson. of Stone Mountain. who up to a short while ago was to the employ of A.

C. Latnpkln on West Peach- tree street. On the other hand. Colonel Milton Candler states that Paul D. John- son was In his office the Friday after the accident and that he talked with him.

Charles Johnson we. seen by a representative of The Constitution last night and gave the story as follows My brother was last seen the day that the accident occurred. He then left th store of Mr. LamPlkln. for whom he had worked.

saying that he was too sick to work and that he was going down to Stone Mountain. where his family lives. I was not In Atlanta at the time the accident occurred and by. some strangle coincidence failed to see the papers which contained accounts of It. I had no reason to have fears as to my brother until he had been away from home for over a week.

I heard of the unknown man who was killed on my return to the city and went to the undertaking establishment of Hllburn Poole. where I identified several articles of his clothing. I positively recognized both his coat and trous- ers and his collar bore a laundry marl which I have used for fifteen years. 3 asked the undertakers as to a. gold filling which was In one of my brothers front teeth and they said that the man found had a filling corresponding with It.

I am confident that the man killed Is my brother and had his body exhumed this afternoon and lave arranged to have it carried through the country tomorow morning to Stone Mountain. where it will be Interred In. the family burying ground. Several years ago he" sustained a gunshot Wound which left a bad sear in his side. At Stone Mountain the physician who dressed the wound will examine the body which will settle all ouestion to Identity As to the statement of Colonel Candler I can only say that he must surely be mistaken as to the day on which he saw my brother.

I am as confident that nV the man who was killed as I am that I am now living. AGNES SCOTT INSTITUTE Seeks To Develop the Highest Type of Womanhood. The aim of the Agnes Scott Institute at Decatur. Go. la to develop the highest type of womanhood.
