Will the San Antonio Spurs win another NBA title? Having lost Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Sunday in dramatic fashion, as Robert Horry hit a 3-pointertogivethe Spurs a 96-95 OT win, can Detroit bounce back? Game 6 is tonight in San Antonio where the Spurs lead the series 3-2 and can close things out with a win tonight. The experts have no idea what's going on in the NBA Finals. Apparently every game depends on which team has "the most energy" and which team "gets physical." See? No clue. Obviously the most-surprising thing about Robert Horry was that he was never traded away for a second-round draft pick by the Magic. Did you notice George Steinbrenner has named his son-in-law, RONALD MARTINEZGETTY IMAGES LIVE ON THE AIR Steve Swin-dal, as his successor in running the Yankees.

That way, when the Yanks drop 10 straight, George can Let's get this straight: Nobody loves the life they lead more than The Shot Doctor does. Nobody. And that's because of the perks. "I take a lot of naps," said Shot, who doesn't mind being called by his "middle name," stressing that his full name is The Shot Doctor. "I love naps.

My goal is to sleep 12 hours out of every 24. Sleeping, eating and watching sports my life is full." The Shot Doctor is the most unique person in Central Florida radio, partially because the co-star of The Finish Line weeknights on 740 The Team-AM was created for radio. Once upon a time there was a career grocery bagger and stacker named Mike Josephs who worked from 1981 through 1997 at various stores in the area. Stock the canned corn, unload the potatoes, price the asparagus. Somehow, his life did not seem fulfilled.

Then he met Greg Warmoth on the golf course. Warmoth, the current morning anchor at WFTV-Ch. 9, was also hosting a morning sports-talk radio show then. He thought the guy from the grocery had clever golf tips even though he was a terrible golfer. So he suggested this guy should call in to the show with tips and, in 1995, Warmoth introduced him as The Shot Doctor.

In 1997, Mike left the grocery can't see you. That's why he doesn't hesitate to describe himself as "Six foot-three, 205 pounds and 5.8 percent body fat." Uh-huh. And he also claims to be "the Jewish Bronco Nagurski," who set rushing records at Winter Park High that have never been touched. Perhaps they've never been touched because they've never been found. (A nasty rumor has it that he actually was a water boy, but you know how people like to talk about superstars.) As for his social life, he proudly has none.

"DirecTV has changed my life," he says with religious zeal. "No more sports bars watching football. I'm in my swinging singles bachelor pad, sitting in my big black leather chair directly in front of my 60-inch TV screen. Life is good." Was Shot ever close to marriage? Once in 1984. He remembers watching a USFL game with his girlfriend when she said something about how nice it would be eventually when he'd come home from work to play with the kids.

He never saw her again. Somewhere there is a birth certificate that claims this man is 50 years old. But that's not true. The Shot Doctor is ageless. He is the ultimate sports fan, happily involved in fantasy leagues in football, baseball, golf and basketball.

On the air, he is an acquired taste but STEINBRENNER ONLY ONLINE Monday through Friday, check out exclusive online news and features at Today NBA Notebook Chicago Tribune columnist Sam Smith writes that Deron Williams and Gerald Green, two potential top picks in the NBA draft, are not impressing teams by declining workouts. Mrs. Smith. Implausibly silly and seems to last longer than an NBA game. However, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie has a loyal listening base that recognizes at least a little of Shot in themselves. "This is the finest job anyone ever had," Shot says "If I had to get a real job now, I couldn't do it." DENNIS WALL ORLANDO SENTINEL might be. For years Shot has partnered with Jerry O'Neill, a veteran of the sports-talk radio game. They remind me most of Abbott Costello with O'Neill constantly berating Shot, who just lets the barbs roll off his back and calls it "buffoonery." Shot understands radio. Call somebody at random from the phone book and say, "How 'bout them Dolphins!" Power naps. Climb to the highest point atop Mount Dora and watch the sunset. all we expected from a product was that it was well-made and reliable? If that innocent age ever existed, it's long gone now. For example: Nike has made tennis shoes for Maria Sharapova and Roger Federer that contain droplets of 24-karat gold to give them that special look and a street value of $500 if available. It makes sense with Sharapova.

It's either that or buy ads that say "Hey, look at her feet!" Meanwhile Gillette made a 4.50-karat, diamond-encrusted razor as a Father's Day gift to soccer's David Beckham. That little some thing for the man who has everything. But CSI (Cheap Seats Investigations) has not confirmed that Manchester United supporters have chipped in for a 5-karat golden garrote for Malcolm Glazer. Longest day This is going to be one really long day. In fact, it's both the first day of summer and the longest day of the year.
