Many Trick Plays. Nashville. Tenri. November cial. Ten to nothing In favor of Vanderbilt tells the story of how the championship or the south was won and the.

hoarse cry of the so rooters and spectators. who saw the game is stilt reverberating through the ea and glade which surround Dudley field. The weather was ideal arid favored neither side. Today's battle was probably the fiercest ever waged on a southern gridiron. After the first thirteen minutes of play nearly three-fourths of the enthusiastic throng got cold feet and began to seek some way lo hedge their fading bank notes.

The University of Nashville's husky eleven was a strong favorite large amounts of money being placed on that team at odds of 3 to 1 to I and 3 to 2. Even money on Vanderbilt was not In the running. At thirteen minutes after 2 o'clock Captain EdJfrton of the Commodores. crossed Nashville's goal line for a touchdown. and a stopper seemed to slip Into the throats of the Nashville rooters.

Mega phones and tin horns of the garnet and blue persuasion were put on the bargain counter while gold and black trumpets went to a premium In a skyrocket rise. Many Tricks Were Used. Both teams played a tierce and strong game. and both depended upon tricks to some extent in a crisis. Vanderbllts favorite was a fake plunge with the entire back field' and interference except two men.

One- of these carried the ball with the other Interfering. Kyle at quarterback worked the trick welt. and two good gains were made In live efforts. Nashville's long suit In the way of a trick was a quick shirt of the entire line to the right of the center rush combined with a. double pass.

This threw the run- ran beyond Vanderbilt's end. and the success of the play depended upon a compact interference for a. few yards. Kuykendall once got past the entire team except Kyle who downed him on the yard tine. As a rule.

the teams played straight football. and it was on straight football that Vanderbilt scored a touchdown in each half. Not a costly nuke or' fumble was made by either team. I cannot account for the fumbling as this has never e- troubled us before. Coach Williams he" done good work for us.

He had only raw terlal to work with and the game today shows the result of his et- torts. I consider our prospects for next year very bright. Nearly all the old men will be back and a number of our substitutes are. very prom- islng. The game was clean throughout and the absence of kicking must have been as satisfactory to the crowd as the size or the crowd was satisfactory to us.

DICKINSON TALKS OF GEORGIA'S GOOD WORK The result of the game Is without a victory for Georgia. Everybody has been saying that we had no chance to win and every kind of discouragement. has hurled at us. We had determined to retrieve the loss of last year enH the boys went to work with that idea In view. The large scores made against us In the early games of the season show what we were when we began this fall and also what Improvement we have made.

The good game this afternoon Is to be attributed to the work of Coach Reynolds and the grit and determination of the Georgia boys. Coach Reynolds deserves all the praise that can be given him. He e- took hold of an untrained team composed of raw men and of men who had been beaten almost Into despair and has made them Into what today's game Showed to be a fast and sure team. e- While the work this year shows few victories for Georgia still the course that is now being pursued at the university is sure to turn out winning teams In the future. Coach Reynolds has enforced his training rules.

There has been no drinking on the Georgia team this year. Men who broke the rules although among the heaviest and best trained men on the team have been dropped. Not a single Georgia man was hurt this afternoon. That Is the result of the training that we have received Auburn had a Teat advantage In weight over us. We went Into the game with an average weight of It pounds and it Auburn will weigh an ounce less than 160 badly" fooled.
