Born in Girardville on Nov. 15, it a.m.

and their investigation revealed the vehicle was the one sought in connection with the incident. Tape recording equipment, a class ring and camera, radio and hunting knife valued at $384 was the burglary loot taken from the room of Robert Dunn, 107 S. George street over the weekend. Robert Hoffman, 818 Main street, reported the theft of a chaise lounge and a rocking chair from his back yard Saturday night. Police continued their checks of city bars for violations of the liquor code closing hour with early morning inspections of nine taverns Saturday.

No violations were reported but police said all of the establishments were advised of the law, which they plan to enforce. Francis Burns reported his car was damaged when struck by a hit-and-run vehicle while parked in the 500 block of Way Corporation Have-A-Car Leasing Company, Theodore Sidoriak, of Stratford, and Joseph R. 1, New Ringgold, was charged with going through a red traffic light following a car crash involving the truck he was driving and a station wagon driven by Robert Logan, of 923 Fairmont avenue, Pottsville. Stanley Novatka Stanley Novatka, 537 East Centre street, Shenandoah, died Saturday in Locust Mountain Hospital where he had been a patient one day. Born in Shenandoah son of the late Frank and Felicia (Salasky Novatka, he was an Army veteran of World War II, was wounded in action and awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of St. Casimir's Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. A sister, Florence Chesonis, and two brothers, John and Paul, died within the last three years.

Surviving are tour sisters, Mrs. Peter (Florence) Kusiesky, Mrs. John (Anna) McCool, Mrs. Leo (Josephine) O'Shura, all of Shenandoah; Mrs. Leo (Hattie) Gavinowicz, of Philadelphia; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Thursday at 8:30 from the Oravitz Home for Funerals. Mass at 9 in St. Casimir's Church. Viewing Wednesday, 2 to 9 p.m. Interment in parish cemetery.

GIRARDVILLE NEWS 1896, daughter of the late Michael and Bridget (Donohue) Coughlin, she was a former Pennsylvania school teacher. Her husband James died in 1966. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Anne) Brennan, with whom she resided and Mrs. Donald (Margaret) DeSanze of Yucaipa, and five grandchildren.

Mass Wednesday at 8 p.m. at 5630 Marblehead Drive, Dayton, Ohio. Rosary and funeral Mass will be in Yucaipa, with burial in the Mountain View Cemetery, San Bernardino. Richard Purcell Richard C. Purcell, 74, Miami, Florida, formerly of Mahanoy City, died suddenly Sunday.

Born in Shenandoah, son of the Edward and Sarah (McGee) Purcell, he spent most of his life in Mahanoy City, and had been a bus driver for the Schuylkill Transit Co. for 30 years. His first wife, Theresa (Klitsch), preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife, the former Elynor Yodis, of Frackville; three daughters: Mrs. Maurice (Regina) Friel and -Rosemary of Philadelphia; Theresa Boyle, Park Crest; one sister, Mrs.

John (Margaret) Munehart, M.D. of Philadelphia; two grandsons, nieces and nephews. A private burial will take Area happenings Four persons were injured and several charged with violations of the motor vehicle code in other weekend accidents investigated by Pottsville police. Police said Robert Bracy, 18, and Kevin Bracy, 17, both of 621 John O'Hara street, were taken to the Good Samaritan Hospital in the police car following an accident on Laurel Boulevard Sunday at 7:56 p.m. Both were occupants in a car driven by Glenn Runkle, of 32 Wood street, Port Carbon.

The driver of the other car was identified as John S. Kardisco, of 36 Main street, Morea. Dennis David Minnich, of 73 Railroad street, Cressona, was treated at Pottsville Hospital for multiple abrasions and contusions of the back sustained when the motorcycle he was riding was struck from behind by a car operated by Stephen B. Wesnoski, 22, of 432 N. Second street, Pottsville.

Police said Wesnoski was charged with following a vehicle too closely. David D. Witcofski, 32, of Hazleton, was killed Saturday at 11:40 p.m. in a car-motorcycle crash on the Edgwood-St. Johns Road just west of Route 309. Police said the victim and Stanley Papaj, 20, and a third unidentified man were all riding motorcycles.

The victim's cycle was struck by a car driven by Stephen J. Nemchick, Hazleton, who told police the one motorcycle moved into his line of traffic and he was unable to avoid the crash. The American Legion Band of Mahanoy City will present a concert Tuesday evening in front of the Ashland American Legion Home, under the direction of Edward McDermott, including marches, novelty tunes and other selections. Music for the occasion is provided by a grant from the Recording Industries Music Performance Trust fund obtained through the cooperation of Local 170, American Musicians. Blackwell, Tamaqua R.D. 2, died Sunday in the Allentown Hospital where he had been a patient since Friday. Born in Ryan Township, son of the late Benjamin and Elizabeth (Witchey) Blackwell, he served in the U.S. Army in World War was the First Commander of the Quakake American Legion Post, was a retired machinist of the Lehigh Valley Railroad and member of Christ United Church of Christ. His wife, the former Caroline Kline, died in 1967.

Surviving are three sons: Sheldon, Tuckerton; Joel, Wilmington, Donald, Pottstown; three daughters: Mrs. Joseph (Caroline) Stevens, Phoenixville; Mrs. Richard (J. Lenore) Schmeltzle, Macungie; Mrs. Marvin (Gail) Arrant, Conroe, Texas; a sister, Sara Blackwell, Park Crest.

Born in Free burg, daughter of the late William and Alice (Schnee) Hepner, she was a member of St. Ignatius' Church, Centralia. Her husband, Edward, died in 1929. Surviving are three sons and a daughter: Edward, William, and Raymond, all of Centralia; Mrs. Mary Nailling, Asheville, N.C., with whom she resided since 1943; 19 grandchildren and 18 greatgrandchildren.

Funeral Wednesday from the Stutz Funeral Home, Centralia. Mrs. William Galgay Mrs. William (Mary Tierney) Galgay of Cambridge, died at Cape Cod while attending the 31st wedding anniversary party for her son and daughter-in-law, James and Marjorie Galgay. She was 83 and recently celebrated her 60th anniversary with her husband and relatives, renewing marriage vows for the second time in ten years at St.

Mary's Church in Cambridge, followed by a reception at Cottage Crest in Walt ham. Mrs. Galgay's survivors, besides her husband, are sons Frank of Frackville, John of Hartsdale, N.Y., a recently appointed federal judge; William, James, George and David, also a daughter Mrs. Robert (Rosemary) Lowrie in the Cambridge area. Further surviving are 41 grandchildren and 25 greatgrandchildren.

Mrs. Anne Grady Mrs. Anne Grady, 609 West Maple street, Mahanoy City, died at Rest Haven where she had been a patient a short time after having been hospitalized at the Good Samaritan. Born in Mahanoy City, daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine Griggs, she was a member of St. Joseph's Church, the Sacred Heart Society Magdalene Society, Holy Rosary Society.

Her husband Mike; daughter Katherine, and son Bernard, preceded her in death. Surviving are one son, Michael, Mahanoy City; a brother, Joseph Griggs, Mahanoy City; two granddaughters, seven greatgrandchildren; nieces and nephews. Funeral Thursday at 8:30 from the Truskowsky Funeral Parlors with Mass at 9 in St. Joseph's Church. Interment in St.

Canicus Cemetery. Viewing Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-10 p.m. Mrs. Fred Kudel Mrs. Fredrick (Elizabeth Lord) Kudel, 33 West Maple street, Mahanoy City died yesterday in the Pottsville Hospital.

Born in Mahanoy City, April 5, 1903, daughter of the late Maurice and Martha (Mason) Lord, she was a member of the Primitive Methodist Church and the Ladies' Aid Society, the Senior Citizens, American Association of Retired Persons and the Moose Auxiliary. Surviving are her husband; five daughters: Mrs. Martin (Lillian) Loft us, Mahanoy City; Mrs. Paul (Elizabeth) Carver, Millers, Mrs. Joseph (Anna) Smith, Mahanoy City; Mrs.

Francis (Mary) Elco, Levittown; Mrs. Lawrence (Rose) Moore, Mechanicsburg; one son, Raymond, Marysville; one sister, Mrs. Harold (Elsie) Robins of Frackville; 24 grandchildren; 8 greatgrandchildren; nieces and nephews. Funeral will be Thursday from Ritz Funeral Home. Interment will be in German Protestant Cemetery.

The meeting was originally scheduled for Aug. 12. For September the regular meeting date will prevail, the second Monday of the month. An estimated $650 damage occurred to three cars, two of them parked, Sunday at 1 a.m. near 14th and Walnut street, Ashland.

Gary E. Shay, 28, of 6212 Locust street, Harrisburg, made a turn from South 14th street onto Walnut, where his 1969 Ford struck a 1972 Plymouth station wagon and a 1970 Chevrolet sedan, both of which are owned by Francis H. McCormick, 1403 Walnut street. There were no injuries. Centralia Senior Action Center will hold its weekly meeting Thursday in the American Legion Post Home.

A catered dinner will be served at noon. Mrs. Berl Benson, will show slides and pictures of the Philippines, where she spent two years. In addition to $100, $50 and $25 prizes presented to the first, second and third winners of the art exhibit at Ray Walsh's Peter Kehley House, the Miners' National, Merchants' and Union National Banks of Shenandoah presented five $10 prizes to honorable mention winners Rick Martin, James M. Matrone, Sylvia Taylor, Ruth Mills, and Mildred Yupcavage.

Q3B Auxiliary gives hospital gifts A food cart and two folding tables were donated by the Locust Mountain State Hospital Auxiliary for use in the kitchen. This was reported by Mrs. Catherine Maksimik, president, at a meeting of the auxiliary held in the hospital annex.

Miss Lena Seigert, dietitian, thanked the auxiliary for the much-needed equipment and reported she checked on various types of insulated trays which the auxiliary would purchase. These are used to keep foods at proper temperatures for serving. It was announced that the auxiliary membership now totals 234 and an invitation is extended to all women in the area to join the group. Hostesses for the meeting were Mrs. Nellie Gouba, Mrs.

Clara Hannis and Mrs. Julia Juck. The next meeting is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 16. Hostesses will be Mrs.

Helen Harida, Mrs. Mary Sakovich and Mrs. Ann Taylor. Church society at Phillies game St. Joseph's Holy Name members of Mahanoy City were among the 55,000 fans at Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia on Saturday to see the Phillies defeat Pittsburgh in a two-night doubleheader, 6-5 and 7-4.

It was the fifth largest crowd in stadium history. The Holy Name also has 40 tickets for the Baltimore Colts-Buffalo Bills football game in Baltimore on October 13, Reservations are open to anyone on a first-come basis by contacting Nick Forte at 773-0574. Meetings A special meeting of the Good American Hose will be held Tuesday, July 30 at 7 :30 p.m. All members are. urged to attend.

A special meeting of the Mahanoy City Borough Council will be held tonight at 7:30 in the Municipal Building. FUNERALS George Kubilus Funeral services for George Kubilus, Shenandoah, were held from the Oravitz Home for Funerals. Mass was celebrated in St. Casimir's Church, by Monsignor Julian Zagorski, assisted by Father Joseph Rapczynski and Father Anthony Nemiotka. Teofil Galezniak led the choir.

American Legion Post 370 and the Shenandoah Elks held memorial services. Pallbearers were Joseph Igelski, John Kalman, William Pack, William Dove, John Dziecak and George Korey. Honorary pallbearers were Joseph Murray, John McGuire, Clarence Broderick and Edward Schlauch. Interment was in St. Casimir's Cemetery.

Joseph LHsch Funeral services for Joseph A. Litsch took place from the Post Funeral Home with Father James Sweeney in charge of Mass in Saint Canicus Church. Father Richard Tranovich had a scripture reading at the viewing. Interment was in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were all grandsons of the deceased: Leonard Dalinsky, Brendan Dillon, Michael Dillon, and George, John and Sean Litsch.

Catherine McDonald Funeral services for Mrs. James (Catherine) McDonald were held from 1021 Centre street, Ashland. Mass was celebrated in St. Joseph's fhiirnh Ky ev. Frederick Skotek.

Rev. Walter Hall was in the Sanctuary. Pallbearers, nephews of the deceased, were Thomas Kelly, Bernard Kelly, Michael Kelly, Shaun Kelly, John Kelly, Thomas Kelly, Robert McCormick and Thomas McCormick. Interment was made in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fountain Springs.

M.J. McDonald and Son had charge. the Mrs. Helen Walukiewicz Mrs. Helen Walukiewicz of 42 North Broad Mountain avenue, Frackville, died Sunday in Locust Mountain Hospital after an illness of several months.

Daughter of the late Stanley and Frances (Kaczynska) Siedlik, she was born in Shenandoah and preceded in death by her husband, Stanley (Stack) in 1928, also by three children, Florence, Walter and Stanley. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Church, Shenandoah, and St. Ann's Church, Frackville, the Rosary and Sacred Heart Societies of St. Stanislaus, the Polish Women's Alliance Group 3J8, and St.

Ann's Guild, Fraclr ille. Surviving are her son Robert Walukiewicz, Marshfieid, Massachusetts; two daughters, Mary Niedziewicki, Frackville, and Eilene Shubick, Houston, Texas; two sisters, Bertha Mickofesf and Mary Blich, both of Shenandoah; a daughter-in-law Gail Wall Biddle, nieces and nephews. The funeral is 9 a.m. Wed nesday from the Walukiewicz Funeral Home, followed by Mass at 9:30 at St. Stanislaus Church.

John Ryan John Patrick Ryan of East Mines, St. Clair, died suddenly at sea July 26 of a heart attack. An electrician for Sealand Service Incorporated of Elizabeth, N.J., he was aboard the ship "San Juan." Born in Georgia, son of the late John and Theresa (O'Keefe) Ryan, he had been a merchant seamen for many years. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, St.
