Marshfield News-Herald Saturday, October 1 5, 1 994 Page 3 Kolbs mark marital milestone a Ben and Edna Hill Rueben and Linda Hill Joseph and Dorothy Kolb celebrated their 50th anniversary Sept. 10. The celebration began with a Mass at St. Joseph's Catholic Church celebrated by the Rev. Joseph Konopacky and Deacon Robert Hansen.

The St. Joseph's Adult Choir sang. A dinner held at the Parish Hall was followed by an open house at Keglcr's Kovc. Original wedding attendants Mike Kolb of Hewitt, Joseph's brother, and Martha (Adams) Woldt, Dorothy's niece, were present at the celebration. They were married Sept.

12, 1944, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Dorothy's brother, the Rev. Al J. Steines officiated.

Joseph was bom in Marshficld April 4, 1919, to Mike and Mary (Sirupp) Kolb and attended St. Joseph's Catholic School in Hewitt. Prior to marriage he worked at Armors and served in the Army. During World War II he served in the Air Force. Dorothy was born Nov.

1 1 1 92 1 in Stratford to Matt and Katherine (Hansen) Steines and was educated at St. Joseph's Catholic School. Before marriage, she did domestic work in Wausau and worked at the shoe factory in Marshficld. After their marriage, the couple spent three months in Montgomery Ala. and five months in Fort Myers, Fla.

Joseph also worked for two years at the Farmer's Co-op. After Hills celebrate double fiftieth Ben Hills Rueben Hills Ben and Edna Hill and Rueben and Linda Hill celebrated their double 50lh wedding anniversary with family, friends and neighbors at an open house Sept. 24 at Dave's Steak House, Owen. The couples were married in a double ceremony on Sept. 23, 1944, at the Finnish Evangelical Church, Owen.

Both couples are retired and currently reside on neighboring farms east of Owen. Ben worked for Will Implement and later became a sclf-cmploycd mechanic until retirement. Edna graduated from Luther Hospital, Eau Claire, and was director of nurses at Clark County Health Care Center for 40 years. Rueben farmed until he began working for Clark County Health Care Center as a farm manager, a position he held until his retirement. Linda was also Originally employed at the Health Care Center.

She later became a full-time homcmaker and devoted her time to farming. Linda is currently president of St. Paul's Lutheran Church Ladies Aid, Curtiss-. Rueben and Linda arc active members in Dcutchcr Club. Both couples are members of St Paul's Lutheran Church, Curtiss.

Ben and Edna's family includes two sons, Jerry and Don, and four grandchildren. Rueben and Linda's family includes one son, James; one daughter, Rachel; and one granddaughter. They continue to reside there. They are lifelong members of SL John's parish. Their family includes six children, Midge (Roger) Hartcr, Barbara (Steve) Drach, Beverly (Charlie) Schnitzlcr, and Randy (Margaret) Wcigcl, all of Marshfield, Julie (Dave Langer-fiancce) Weigel of Gib Harbor, and Lynn (Peggy) Weigel of Stratford.

They also have 14 grandchildren. Tien you're Li Teens earn caps Weigels mark 50th NicholasAyling Rose Marie Ayling and Cliff C. Nicholas exchanged marriage vows at 3 p.m. Aug. 13 at St.

Alban's Episcopal Church, Marshficld. The Rev. Wayne Knotls officiated. Music was provided by Mary Lasinski, organist Parents of the couple arc George and Lcona Ayling of Stratford and John and Shirley Nicholas of Elmhurst, 111. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white satin gown with cathedral-length train.

She also wore a veil extending from a headpiece with multiple strands of pearls. She carried a bouquet of peach roses and white miniature carnations. Maid of honor was Marie Nicholas of Marshficld and bridesmaid was Tamera Lee Wilson of Marshficld. They wore tea-length teal dresses and carried bouquets of peach and white carnations. John Nicholas of Elmhurst, 111., was best man, and groomsman was Ronald Rodriguez of Marshficld.

Antonc Botcher of Marshficld served as usher. Flower girl was Kristi Nicholas, and Jeremy Nicholas was ringbearer. SchneiderLutz Dawn Alice Lutz and Robert Schneider exchanged marriage vows at 1 p.m. Aug. 13 at St.

Mary's Catholic Church, Auburn-dale. The Rev. Michcal Schelble officiated. Music was provided by Sandy Kieffcr, organistsoloist. Parents of the couple are Leon Lutz, 2313 S.

Washington Sharon Lutz of Aubumdale, and Edmund and Elaine Schneider, 7142 Highway H. The bride, given in marriage by her uncle, Elmer Ploog, wore a full-length, off-the-shouldcr style, white taffeta gown with cathedral-length train and pouf sleeves. The bodice and skirt were enhanced by hand-beaded schiffli lace and appliques. She also wore a back comb hairpiece with pouf and fingertip veil and carried a bouquet of burgundy roses accented with white statice and black opalescent and burgundy ribbons. Matron of honor was Denita Raabe of Toman.

Bridesmaids were Heidi Lutz, Shanna Lutz, and Amanda Schneider, all of Aubumdale. They wore waltz-length, off-the-shouldcr style black taffeta gowns with lace basque bodice and accent bow at the waist, Heidi and Shanna carried bouquets of burgundy roses accented with white statice and black and burgundy ribbons. Amanda carried a bouquet similar to the bride's. Gary Bredl of Marshficld was best ZimmermanHerrmann Peggy Herrmann and Rev. Dan Zimmerman exchanged marriage vows at 2:30 p.m.

Aug. 20 at First United Church of Christ, Colby. The Revs. Kenneth Dix and Earl Zimmerman co-officiated. Music was provided by Suzanne Dix, organist, and Greg Reierson, soloist.

Parents of the couple are Glenn and Darlene Herrmann of Colby and Rev. Earl and Dolores Zimmerman of Rothschild. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a full-length, white satin gown featuring a sabrina neckline, princess sleeves and basque waistline. Hand-beaded alencon lace trimmed the bodice, sleeves and full cathedral train. She wore a matching veil and carried a cascade bouquet of bridal white roses with purple caspia, ivy, plumosa and baby's breath.

Maid of honor was Mary Jo Southworth of Marshficld. Bridesmaids were Nancy Bellendorf of Colby and Jana Nomady of Mosinee. They wore amethyst satin gowns featuring hi-low hemlines. The gown had a jacquard lace overlay on the dropped basque bodice and long tapered sleeves. A lace-covercd back bow accented the back.

They carried teardrop bouquets with lavendar roses, miniature carnations, pink alstroemeria and caspia. Dean Zimmerman of Merrill was best man. Groomsmen were Dave Zimmerman of Woodbury, and Lee Reeds of Wausau. Peter Shuda of Stevens Point and Kenneth VenRooy of Colby served as ushers. Following the ceremony, a reception, dinner and dance were held at umii ii.liu i iiiiymuu mv vi ij .1 Amanda Meyer and Stacey Jones, Voluntccns at St.

Joseph's Hospital, have earned their cap for donating 100 hours of service to the Hospi- Amanda Meyer tal. Both became Voluntccns in 1993. Meyer has worked in Neonatal Intensive Care, the Information Desk, Supply, Processing and Distribution and on special projects. shopping Joseph and Dorothy Kolb his discharge from the Air the couple farmed in the Stratford area for 34 years, retiring in December of 1982. Joseph is a member of the Knights of Columbus, and enjoys wood-; working, reading and playing Dorothy is a member of St.

Joseph's Parish Council of Catholic Women who enjoys quilting, playing cards and bowling. Their family includes eight; children: Joan Kolb and Joe (Linda) Kolb, all of Stratford; Allen-(Earlcne) Kolb of Green Bay; Kay (Jack) Phelps and Mary Kolb, all of Marshficld; Jancl (Gary) Malcski of Wisconsin Rapids, Kcnon (Jancl) Kolb of Menomonie, and Marvin Kolb of Anchorage, Alaska. They also have 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is a freshman at Aubumdale High School and is the daughter of; Darryl and Linda Meyer. Jones has worked in Kiddie Kaboose and helped with the Hospital children's Christmas party.

Jones is a freshman at Marshficld. Senior High School, plays baritone in the band and enjoys basketballs She is the daughter of Kathy Jones and Randy Jones. The bride attended Roberto Clcmente High School in Chicago, and is a certified day care provider. The groom is a 1972 graduate of Prosscr Vocational High School, Chicago, and works as a plumber at Wisconsin Homes. Following a honeymoon in Nckoosa, the couple resides in Marshficld. Robert and Dawn Schneider man.

Groomsmen were Ken Schneider and Martin Schneider, both of Marshficld, and Nick Lutz Joel Lutz and Andrew Schneider, both of Marshfield, served, as ushers. Following the ceremony, a dinner, reception and dance were held at the Rozellville Ballroom. The bride is a 1986 graduate of Marshficld Senior High School and is currently enrolled in the computer electronics program at Mid-State Technical College. The groom is a 1982 graduate of Aubumdale Senior High School and works in the welding department at Wick Building Systems. The couple resides in rural Aubumdale.

Their celebration began with a Mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Marshfield. The Rev. Leonard Kaiser was celebrant. Music was provided by Holy Rosary Polka Band and Choir from Owen-Withee.

Original wedding attendants present for the celebration were Marion Nowak and Marie Hustedt, both of Wausau, Vi Wcigcl and Jacob Weigel, both of Marshfield, and Clarence Roggenbauer of Stratford. Another attendant, Clem Fleisncr, is deceased. They were married Wednesday, Oct. 18, 1944, at St Patrick's Catholic Church, Haider, with the Rev. Herbert Hoffman officiating.

Roman was bom Sept. 25, 1922, in Marshfield, to Henry and Rose (Bohman) Weigel. He is a 1940 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School. Agnes was bom Jan. 29, 1921, in Haider, to Frank and Margaret (Kennedy) Stacck.

She is a 1942 graduate of Mosinee High School and prior to marriage worked at St. Mary's Hospital in Wausau.
