O. Lovett Alexander Lively and Justin B. Heatn were declared elected by the managers today over 81. Heath" candidate- for session and Dr. E.

A. Perkins Thos. B. Cox and Frank L. Btinson.

The senatorial majority being much larger then that of the representative the latter lx three votes only in majority between the two bight st votes on toe two sides. A brass band with general rejoicing among the organized democracy is in progress to-night. The vote being so close a contest of the representatives' electien Is declared. Party spirit has beets Ton some time deeply aroused and great feeling has beets relent. At the Alexander precinct a negro got into a difficulty with a white gentleman on the grounds and was shot twice- in the hand and a slight flesh wound in the leg.

And St another precinct a negro is said to have been beaten and suede to level the grounds lit the election precinct. Otto of the managers reported at the consolidation to-day that the lights went out and tile ballot box mysteriously disappeared. This precinct gave a majority for the conservative democracy and cn tequently were thrown out with two others tnat went in their favor because the election was sail to be illegally held It it sincerely hoped that alt dlllcrences will be amicably adjusted and that good feeling will be restored amoiig our citizens. 1 he breech is as wide as ever and much excitement prevailed throughout the county. Titus will no doubt cause all ditlerences to be somewhat forgotten and peace and friendship in a degree will be restored and quiet will once again reign.

Neal who lives down on Broad river. lost his gin house by fire last Sunday morning. The fire began while the people ere at church near by and as there had beau no fire for two days about tile steam engine wnieh runs the gin and as the engine house was not turned. it is thought an incendiary certainly did the burning. The gin house gin press and eight bales unpacked cotton were a complete loss.

A grist mill and the engine house which were in close proximity did not burn. The same engine as used for running the mill and the gin but the gin Souse was as far off as convenient. and connected by shaJ ting. ome negroes saw a negro man run oft from the gin house about the tUue the fire was discovered and dogs were procured and put on the track but they ran it only a short distance.
