The prosecution will be handled by Solicitor Reed of the Stone Mountain circuit as the. the-solicitor of this circuit. Hon. Render Terrell of Qreenville is. a relative of Mr.

Phllpot The prosecution wm be assisted by Colonel Reuben R. Arnold. of Atlanta. and Judge N. M.

Denson Judge of the supreme bench of Alabama. whose home is at Lafayette. Ala. The defense will be represented by Colonel A. E.

W. H. Chauncey a farmer re siding about 10 miles from here had a difficulty with Clarence Carter near the public road and Chauncey shot Carter five times with- a pistol. ac cording to his own statement when' he came to town and surrendered to the sheriff this morning. The.

coroners inquest returned a verdict this evening of murder arid charged Cnauncey with the commission of. the same.
