game yesterday was called off. and- the two teams would not have been allowed to Way if the Tech. student body had not apologized to Georgia When President Matheson arose Friday he walked around thecampus When he reached the- dormitories. to the right of the chapel. he paused.

To Hell With Georgia. For. blazoned on the roof of one of the shacks as the students fondly term the dormitories w6re the words To hell with Georgia The president went at once to the leregraph office and telegraphed the said tldlnss to Nat Harris of Macon president of the board of trus tees. Now Colonel Harris was already sore according to the boys. because of the burning of a certain effigy Saturday night.

and he immediately wired back1 that the ame for that aft- ernoon should be called off. When the students heard of the. decision. thfclr wrath was more terrible to see than had been Dr. Mathetlons In a body thy called on the president and declared that the foul deed had been perpetrated by.

some one who had not been at the college long enough to get the spirit It must have been done by a sub-freshman they said. But President Matheson stood firm. The decoration was removed from the. ioof by' the boys and still he stood firm. The game was off that was all.

Finally In desperation. the boys adopted resolutions apologizing to Georgia at a mass meeting- at the chapel. Alumni Coach Helsman. even the. boys themselves spoke denouncing the act nd all- of the denunclatloBS' went into the resolutions.

Students Deny Rep itlllt7 The students called- TOth president again We didn't do It they declared. WWarent responslble to the actions of it' fewKpJtifui freshmen. And we've apologised to Georgia and well apojioglie to anybody and. everybody elsethatyou ten us to only pleasej let 1 play. Whether the prexeys heart was touched or not.

is still a matter of doubt. he called up Colonel Harris on the long distance telephone. and. after a. conference removed his ban from the game.

He wouldn't say what he would do if he caught those responsible' for the decorations but. it was darkly rumored that. he would do some whole- Bale' shlppln if his investigations were successful. Anyway. guilty ones will' be given the silent treatment by the rest of the boy If they are caught 0000 PRIZE OFFERED I FOR.
