Plaintiff states that defendant was recently committed to the State Mental Health Institute at Cherokee, Iowa, and that she is unable to manage her affairs or take care of her property.

Jacob Altena filed a damage suit against Henry Vande Burgt and Gilbert Vande Burgt. Plaintiff in his petition states that on May 7, 1952 at about 6:00 p.m. he was driving his Buick eastward on the streets of Orange. City, approaching an intersection the defendants were driving from the North entering the intersection and drove into and upon the car of the plaintiffs and damaged it to the extent of $418.45. Plaintiff states defendant was driving at an excessive rate of speed and failed to yield the right of way at the Plaintiff demands judgment for $418.45 and interest from Mav 7th and for costs.

Bond of Administrators was fixed in the amount of $50,000.00, The court appointed Mattie J. Baugus as administratrix of the estate of Baugus, late of Hawarden.

Bond of administratrix was set in the amount of $1500.00. Robert Boonstra was appointed Guardian of property of Bryan Boonstra, a minor. Bond was set in the amount of $500.00. The estate of Roelof Cleveringa, late of Rock Valley, was valued at about $36,061.80 and consists of $516.45 cash; notes, U.S. bonds and stock in local cooperatives livestock, grain and farm equipment other personal property $100.00.

The estate goes to his three children according to decedent's will. In the guardianship of several minors heirs of John Van Engen, the guardian reports the sale of the minors' interest in two tracts of land for the sum of $6000.00 to Fred Van Engen. The sale was approved by the court, The estate of Janna H. Den Herder, late of Sioux Center. was valued at about $91,200.00 and consists of real estate only.

The estate goes to her heirs as provided in her last will. The annual report of Henry H. Winter. Guardian of William A. Winter, was approved by the court.

The estate of Rena Bouma, late of Orange City, was valued at about $13,500 and consists of a one interest in a town property in Orange City and a fourth interest in about 160 acres of land; cash $200.00: bonds other personal property $300.00. The estate goes to her two brothers and a sister. Rev. McGowan is recovering from an illness with amnesia. Mrs. Gt. Dolieslager and children Joan and Darrell.

PM, San Francisco, Calif. Rev. F. B. Mansen preached in the Reformed Church of Greenleafton, Sunday.

Mansen accompanied him to be entertained as as houseguests in the Alton Heusinkveld home there. Mrs. Annette Bloemendaal who underwent surgery at the local hospital is doing well. The Rev. Harold Schuller family of Ivanhoe, arrived last Tuesday for a visit with relatives here.

A family gathering was held at the Henry Mouw home Thursday evening in honor of the Rev. Schullers. Present were Mr. Jno. Beltman.

Jno. A. Reckers and Miss Gertrude Vander Vegte spent a week in the Black Hills and Utah. Mrs. Merle McNutt was dismissed from the Lutheran hospital in Sioux City where she underwent major surgery.

Their vacation was saildened Colenbrander's by the sister, death of Rev. Wm. Greendyk, 58, of Paterson, N. J. Mrs.

Greendyk passed away Aug. 7 at a hospital there after a brief illness with pneumonia. She is survived by her husband and a son, Arnold at home. Also surviving are her brother, Harry Van Lummel of Paterson, 'her sister, Mrs. Jno.

Pest of Muskegon, and her half-brothers: Mr. Dick Colenbrander of Sioux Center and Rev. Colenbrander Orange City. Rev. and Mrs.

Colenbrander were with their sister the time of her illness and attended the funeral Saturday. Dr. F. Wazeman preached at the Reformed Church of Siblev Sunday. Mrs.

Wazeman and Jet children accompanied him there in the evening. Mrs. Wm, G. Korver helped her sister, Mrs. Chas.

Gasser of City celebrate her birthday, Friday. and "Ring" Jasper Funeral services were held Saturday. Aug. 2 for "Ring" Jasper who passed away on Wednesday, July 30. Services were held in the First Chr.

Ref. Church with Dr. R. Bronkema in charge. Death was due to coronary thrombosis.

Mr. Jasper was 70 years of age and the last remaining of 6 sons of Jacobus and Riemke Jasper. He was born in Orange 1882 and married Etta Siaarda of LeMars in 1912. They were the parents of a son and a daughter, They are Roger of Grand Rapids, and Ruth (Mrs. Richard Hof) of Akron, Ohio who with their I mother survive him.

There are 4 grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Jake De Haan, Mrs. Jno.

A. Ver Steeg and son Marion visited Monday evening in the Jake J. Ver Steeg home at Sibley, and made the acquaintance of the new baby in the Donald Ver Steeg home there. Herman is recovering from a slight stroke suffered last week. Mrs.

Arend Kraayenbrink (Clarice Gesink) receive)d a call from her husband in North Korea telling her that he is well. He is with a combat battalion there. The Kraayenbrinks became the parents of their first child July 31, who passed away, shortly after birth. The soldier had received the sad message of the death of their child. Mrs.

Kraayenbrink is well. The Bernard Vander Aarde family and Miss Darlene De Boer; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Mouw and Jimmy; the John Schuller family are among the many to vacation on a fishing trip to northern Minnesota. Mr.

933 ANDRUS BUILDING Minneapolis 2, Minn, Katje Haigwood Gerald Katje, son of Mr. and Mrs. August Katje of Orange City, and Miss Ida Louise Haigwood of Dallas, Texas were married at the home of the groom's brother, the Frank Katjes Friday, Aug. 1, at 8 o'clock in the evening. The Rev.

H. Hoffman officiated. Members of the immediate family were present. The bride was lovely in white lace dress and finger-tip nylon veil. She carried red roses and, her jewelry' was a rhinestone necklace and earrings.

A reception was held following the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Katje are at home in the Kepp apt. The groom and his brother are in the painting business.

Mr. Katje has been in service for the past 4 years. He was in Germany for years returning to the States in March served in Fort Sill, and Camp Polk, until his discharge in June. He has been connected with radar and was radar chief. Mrs.

Al Blemaster will teach vocal and instrumental music in the Boyden schools for the coming year. Mr. and Tony Huisenga are taking son, Julius to Glenwood Thursday, to attend school there. The Herman Bruxvoort children and grandchildren were home to help him celebrate his 76th birthday, Aug. 5.

Coming from a distance was the daughter. Mrs. Ralph Bremer of Grand Rapids who returned home Thursday. Clarence Bruxvoort was unable to be present. T.

Marra has returned home from a Sioux Citv hospital. Arrive in Japan Mr. Ronald Korver and Miss Ruby Barth arrived safely Aug. 1 at Kamakura, Japan. They -tell of a wonderful trip on a calm sea and no one seasick.

There were 7 Americans aboard the Japanese ship. Also Japenese orchestra and recreational facilities available. Worship services held on Sundays with Mr. Korver as one of the leaders, who also translated the hymns from the English Hymnals into the Japanese language. The wedding date for Mr.

Korver and Miss Barth has been set for Sept. 6. They will be stationed at Tokyo. Pete Van Oosterhout has finished training at the Hills Air Force Base at Ogden, Utah. The B.

J. Schrader family resides at Opa Locka, where he is stationed at the Jet Air Base. Dr. Bronkema has an invitation to serve a congregation in Angeles, while the pastor, the Rev. Richard Daane has a year's leave of absence for study.

Dr. and Mrs. Bronkema will take charge there in the middle of September. The Dr. F.
