Cross a luau-type revue with a ballet recital, and you get this "Polynesian Aquacade," set in and on a watery stage.

A cast of 16 engages in a variety of Polynesian moods and modes, ranging from traditional hula to aquatic "dances" in the water, from the flaming fire knife dance to a pool-side fashion show. ROMANCE IS the undercurrent; producer Deptula attempts to capture the idyllic beauty of Hawaii. There are two swimmingly good productions in the 60-minute show: A simple, refined enactment or reenact-ment, it turns out of a watery wedding, with surfing champion Paul Strauch and his real-life wife, Toni Strauch, dancingswimming to "Ke Kali Nei Au," the Hawaiian Wedding Song. Playbow signed the agreement with the Shuei-sha Publishing Co. of Japan.
