There seems tr be considerable doubt as to what the office of treasurer of Bibb unty will pay per annum in case the courts decide that the special act abolish. log the office as unconstitutional. As a trotter of public Information it can be stated that the legislature of 1890 passed a general law which sd that no county treasurer shall receive a larger compensation than 3000. The act oflStO reads as follows County treasurers in the several counties of the state are entitled to receive ZVt per cent commission for paying out all sums up to tO and 114 per cent for pay. tog out the excess over 10000 for receiving and paying out county funds provided that In no case shall the compensation of county treasurer exceed the sum of 3000 per an- nurn.

Now what would have been the compensation of the treasurer In 1893 The county taxes exclusive of the school fund were 1108000. The treasurers commission on this would have been ststo or only 150 less than the maximum allowed by law. If he also received commission on the J4300 approprt- Cough Cough Its the hacking cough that often ends in the most serious trouble. stops the cough at once by removing the cause and thus prevents the trouble.
