Yearian announced early last week the marriage of their daughter, Edith, to Frederic E. Gittins, water tender USNR, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Gittins. The wedding took place Jan.

6 at 7:30 p. m. in the chapel of the First Methodist church at Vallejo, with the Rev. E. J.

Berger officiating. The couple was attended by Petty Officer John Peterson, a friend of the bridegroom. Mrs. Gittins was attired in a black and white tailored suit. The couple came to their homes in Williamsburg following their marriage to spend several days with relatives before Mr.

Gittins left to report back to his ship in San Francisco. He has a 27-day leave from duty. Both the bride and bridegroom are graduates of the Williamsburg high school. Mrs. Gittins has been employed as stenographer in Results That Count BERT HANSON Auctioneer SALE DATES Feb.

and John Mahan were pleasantly surprised at the Town Hall in Williamsburg Thursday evening, Jan. 18, when neighbors, friends and relatives gathered to help them celebrate their fortieth wedding anniversary. The evening was spent in playing progressive Euchre. The high prizes for women were won by Mrs. Fred Lienen and Mrs.

Irvin Burgy. Low prizes went to Mrs. Mae Stanerson and Mrs. George Folkmann. High prizes for men were won by Reno Zuber and John Wales.

Consolation prizes for men went to John Flanagan and Fred Lienen. Traveling prizes were won by Grant Olson, William Schwarting and Mrs. John Sullivan. A lunch was served at a late hour by the hostesses. The bridal table was centered with a decorated wedding cake which was baked and decorated by Mrs.

Alvin Werr. The cake was topped with a miniature bride and groom. The honored couple were the recipients of many beautiful gifts. ft Miscellaneous Shower For Miss Reta A miscellaneous shower was given to the bride-elect Reta Kelly on Sunday, Jan. 21, at the A.O.H.

Hall at Holbrook by Irene and Marian Kelly, Mrs. Orville Chrisman and Kathleen Kelly. Miss Kelly will be married to Clarence Wehner at St. Michael's church at Holbrook on Thursday, Feb. 1st, at 9:00 o'clock.

Many beautiful gifts were presented to the honoree and a lunch was served. The afternoon wat. spent playing Euchre. There were about 125 guests present. E. C. Edwards Left Sunday to Attend His Brother's Funeral E. C.

Edwards left here Sunday evening to attend the funeral services for his brother, A. J. Edwards, at Atwater, Minn. A. J.

Edwards passed away on Sunday morning at 4:00 a. m. following a period of several yssr of ill health. He was preceded ir. death by his wife during the flu epidemic in 1918.

He is survived by five children two sons, Ralph in Ohio, and Raj at home, and three daughters. Emma and Nora at home and Mr? Laura Othln of Willmar, Minn Other survivors in the immediate family include two brothers, E. Edwards of Williamsburg and G. Edwards of Aberdeen. S.

Dak. and two sisters, Miss Annie Edwards and Mrs. L. A. Alger, both of Dickens, Iowa.

Mr. and Mrs. Willis Davis anc the Misses Ella and Mae Fuller called at the Mrs. Alice Enochsor home Sunday afternoon. Mr.
